***UPDATE***
I noticed that RE is a game where if you know exactly what you do you can run through it. So inserted CD1 and started playing from the start. I made a couple saves. Used them they worked. For the heck of it, I inserted CD2 to test AGAIN my old saves. They worked. I don't understand how this happens or why. But they work for now

Ok this is very sad
I have been playing code veronica and enjoying it a lot on the dreamcast. I am all the way in the middle of disc-2 (play chris campaign). So I shut down my dreamcast as I had enough. I wake up next morning, I load RE:CV , everything seems right.
Yet when I chose to load a game all i get is : loading from memory card. Do not turn the power off. and on the VMU screen it has full screen writing "LOAD" .
NON of the resident evil saves are working. I inserted another game that I have saves for it(soul caliber) it works fine with everything saved before is loaded up.
I check the VMU in the dreamcast system to check the files. It seems to have all the right information with the blocks and date of save file and everything.
Any idea how to fix this!?
VMU problem
Re: VMU problem
It sounds like your gamesave has become corrupt. It happens every once in a while, and if it happens frequently, your VMU might be on it's way out. Since it's just one save though, I'm fairly sure it's probably not a hardware problem.
Anyway, what you can try is download a tool called Dream Explorer, which is coded by a fellow who goes by the name Speud. It's a great memory card management tool, you can make backups, lock and unlock files, I personally use it on a regular basis to backup my Phantasy Star Online character to my PC. If you burn it and go to your memory card, select the file that is giving you trouble and choose "Fix CRC". It may or may not work, but as far as I know, that is really your only hope to get it working again, otherwise you are unfortunately going to have to delete the file and start from the beginning.
