If there's some sort of statement or art to his movies it's beyond me. It seems more likely to me that all his films are one big joke about how he can get actors to do anything, and in 50 years he'll point at them all and laugh.
Anti-Christ, eh?

"To produce scenes of unsimulated sex, Von Trier is having the genitals of porn actors digitally composited onto the bodies of the film's cast."
"Shia LaBeouf"
Oh good. Now I have something to add to my very short list of "Movies I don't think I ever need to see."

Figured it wouldn't be. Most the reviews I've read were poor too. The origional is just too good!

Philomena

Good movie, but a bit depressing. Judi Dench is sublime, as always, and Steve Coogan both contrasts and complements her well.

For something rated PG-13, I was a bit surprised by how much swearing there was in this movie. Not that that's really a complaint as I don't care either way, it was just something interesting I noted when I walked out of the theatre.

No. It's just...now that I've read some synopses my imagination filled in enough blanks with unsettling imagery that seeing the films themselves would only make it much, much worse.
