Nice! I still need to pick that one up myself (the Turbo CD version that is, I have it on Super Famicom).

Re: RPG Progress Report
Against my better judgement, I've have started Final Fantasy 13. Two and a half hours in and the game is still explaining the basic mechanics to me.
Also has one of my bugbears in gaming, the old cut-scene sandwich as in; save point, ten minute cutscene, save point. Why? And why do you control Hope for all of five seconds?
It looks great though and Lighting isn't as boring as people have said so I'll stick with it. Paradigm's look like fun too.

FFXIII really picks up after the (insanely long) tutorial period. You won't just hit auto attack and win for the entire game, and you have to really be on your toes for some later fights.
I thought it was a great game.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Been playing more of Final Fantasy VI Advance recently. Escaped Vector, Terra rejoins, and now I'll probably take some time having my characters learn some magic, even the ones who I don't use that much.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Final Fantasy XI - I've finally accepted what was originally THE FINAL MISSION for my nation when the game was released. There's obviously a ton of extra content from expansion packs, but I'm considering the game to be beaten when I finish this one!
I feel kind of conflicted about this. On one hand, I'd like to keep playing and explore the expansion stuffs - it still feels like I've only JUST STARTED to get into the game. On the other hand, I want to play other games and this MMO just eats up too much time!
It'll probably take me some time to finish the mission anyway and I might keep playing for a couple more months just because it's a good game for the winter when I'm more likely to be reclusive anyway?

Re: RPG Progress Report
lol three Final Fantasy games mentioned on one page.
Re: RPG Progress Report
I really liked FF XIII. The battle system felt really 'right' to me. I will admit that I blasted through ~2/3 of the game expecting to still be in the beginning of it because I was waiting to get to a town, but by the time I hit 'the game'—
—I had accepted the style of the game, and thought the game really took off from that point on.
I'm guessing you're on the rank 6-2 mission? If so, almost nothing is resolved by the ending of that mission. I don't know how good you'll really feel about leaving off there. A lot of people really like CoP more than anything else in FFXI. At a high level, most of it can be solo'd now, with all the original level caps being removed from the battlefields.Nemoide wrote:I feel kind of conflicted about this. Yeah, but I'm not sure how much closure any part of the game is going to be giving me... OH WELL, I'M STILL PLAYING FOR NOW!pierrot wrote:I'm guessing you're on the rank 6-2 mission? I mostly just wish the process of leveling up and raising caps was faster.
