I love me some Treasure, but I think I might have been spoiled on this one by the sequel, Bangai -O Spirits for DS, which is a lot more chaotic fun.
I completely forgot there was a sequel on the DS. Bangai-O has become one of my favourite games on the Dreamcast. I'll have to pick up the DS game.

Ouch, sorry to hear that! Although, that said, take solace in the fact that the game you're waiting for ISN'T vapourware! Or at least, if it IS, some of us here had a pretty sweet delusional trip, where we played a shmup on Dreamcast that has great graphics and was released in 2013. TBH, it certainly does sound like a delusion, but hey.

It's ok, it finally came yesterday :)
I ordered it on the 12th, so it took nearly 3 weeks to come. It's more the lack of communication that bothers me (you don't get order confirmations, dispatch information etc). I understand they're quite a small business though.

I have to say it's a brilliant game. I only played a little bit (due to the fact I have Super Mario 3D World, a Link Between Worlds, not to mention a brand new PS4 to play with :D), but like you said, it has great graphics and is a sweet shmup that came out in 2013 for the Dreamcast. And unlike Gunlord, the last Indie game I bought for the Dreamcast, it may be hard, but at least you don't have to start from the first level again if you die.

One cool thing i will say about Redspot games is that i've ordered from them twice now, and both times i received some small freebies like stickers and sweets in the package, which i though was a nice touch.

Gah, I want to replay Shenmue as I usually do this time of year, but my dreamcast is being a knob. It will play fine for ages sometimes, up to an hour, and then just cut out or freeze. It must be the laser. If I could combine my two dreamcasts I'd have one working console.

Did you already try adjusting the laser potentiometer?

I adjusted mine a while back, and used this instructables guide:

http://www.instructables.com/id/Dreamca ... ue-repair/

Pics are a little blurry, but they get the message across. It may need a few tries to get the potentiometer to the right spot- turn the screw in tiny increments each time. It's slightly frustrating as a trial-and-error process, but i can attest to the fact that it works.

(Or at least, it works when the real problem is the laser not reading games properly due to the potentiometer being off. It's not a solution for everyone, but hope it can help here.)

Adjusting the potentiometer is easy. I have one piece of advice if you attempt it. Dont fully reassemble the DC until your played a few games a few times and you relatively sure that everything is kosher.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast
