I sell the high end audio and TVs for best buy. Even in my department where I wear a tie everyday and train my team to use professionalism, I still got asked at least 10 times today for rain checks on $99-$300 items from all over the store.

That's a common sense problem more or less.Bradtemple87 wrote:I sell the high end audio and TVs for best buy. Common sense rarely happens in mobs.oxymoron wrote: That's a common sense problem more or less.
Examples of people at their lowest on BF are broadcast on TV and on the internet every year. The low price and popular things always go in a hurry every year and there is always mass confusion no matter how well things are planned due to the numbers of crazy people. If you're really that naive, consider this slap in the face cram session.@BoneSnapDeez

How hard would it have been to print two pieces of paper with 'tablet' and 'games' printed on them and tape them near the start of the line? Then, if they have mercy on us, go ahead and announce what's sold out. I know there will still be mass confusion but don't you think it would help just a bit?Hobie-wan wrote:Examples of people at their lowest on BF are broadcast on TV and on the internet every year. I've gone once. Never again. I went to the mall at 6am and was unable to move. The crowds moved along in currents and if you went against them you'd be screwed, and being in the stores was as cramped as it gets. Trying to get to whatever item you were looking for was practically impossible unless you were willing to try to shimmy through people for an hour just to locate it.
Even the horses are cut in half......

Re: Whats Your Worst Black Friday Experience?
I only ever went Black Friday shopping once. I believe it was 2007. I learned my lesson right away. The crowds of rude people are awful, and the deals are not so spectacular.
I haven't gone back since.
I haven't gone back since.
True story: one of my friends called me up yesterday and asked me to drive him to Wal*Mart so he could go grocery shopping. I said to him, "Ben you realize today is black Friday, don't you? I'll give you a ride to the grocery store, but I'm not going anywhere near Wal*Mart today." We went to Kroger instead where we encountered no rabid shopoholics.BoringSupreez wrote:My parents.BoneSnapDeez wrote:

Really the only reason to go near a Walmart Shopping Center on Black Friday is to watch the insanity. Me and my brother went last year just to watch the idiots duke it out. Seriously its like the Dick Olympics everyone seems to go out of their way to make complete asses out of themselves for mediocre deals that they could get just as easily online.

There is a dude on Racketboy who is fifteen years old and says "Fine and dandy". I feel like I have done my job.
As far as BFShopping goes, I avoid it but love that it exists and love the fact people still participate in radical retail. Here's a quick one from 2002...
I was in line at Victoria's Secret to buy my gf (at the time a Miss Nicki) a teddy and I heard a familiar voice calling "Luke?". It was my Sister, who was with my Mother who was mortified to see me buying something borderline (okay, no borders about it) slutty. I quickly broke out into a sweat, and then my Sister said it... "You're not fooling anyone, you're buying it for yourself!".

17, Luke. Even if you went with what she said it would still be really awkward.Luke wrote:There is a dude on Racketboy who is fifteen years old and says "Fine and dandy". I feel like I have done my job.
