is this worth $100?

Post by aaron »

i know these posts are kinda irritating, but this forum is probably the best for these kinds of questions. y'all should be flattered.

anyway this guy here in town had an ad on craigslist for a genesis, 32X, nomad, and a duffel bag filled with games. no idea what's in it aside from a few shitty pictures. wants $100. what do you think, racketeers?

Depends on how many games there are, and perhaps as important, what games. A duffel bag of unwanted sports games isn't a good deal...

well the hardware is worth what 50 or so (if that) bucks so depending on the number of games and the titles it may or may not be worth it

A Sega Nomad by itself is worth at least $50, even more if it has the battery pack with it. A 32X that has the connector cable that hooks into a genesis is worth around $30 (without it, it's a piece of useless junk). I'd say it might be worth it, but without knowing what games come with it, if the Nomad screen is scratched to hell or not, if it has the battery pack, etc etc, I can't say for sure.
I have a ton of games listed at my store's site: Super Smash Video Games

I was going to just say that... the Nomad is a good find, and worth a pretty penny. Just check ebay, posts usually go up with a starting bid of 50 or 60 dollars, buy it now easily get's 120+, and in the past (it's been a couple years, the Nomad may have decreased in demand) I've seen it sell for well up to 190.

Genny's go for maybe 10 bucks or so, and a 32X can be variable depending on the collector (I've bought them for as cheap as 2 dollars with all cables, and sold them for as much as 60 dollars with all cables).

The pics don't work though, so yeah, make SURE it is a Nomad though. I've seen dingle berries out there calling Game Gears, Nomads. Because they just don't know better. But value wise there is a huge difference.

Not gonna lie. Worth it for Shaq Fu.

Also, make sure the games are actually in the boxes.

After seeing some pics I'd definetely say to go for it. The Nomad has the Battery Pack which adds a lot of value for it. If you were to wait for the right buyer to come around you can probably get upwards of $100 for it.

Plus looking at the games I see a "Sega Club" logo in it. Most of these titles fetch about $10 depending on condition.

Also I definetely see a Kolibri Box for the 32X in there as well that's a $30+ game.

Also as long as my eyes aren't deceiving me I see a 32X connector cord in that tangle of wires as well which makes the 32X worth about $60.

I'd say go for this one, there could be more buried treasures in that duffel bag as there appear to be a number of 32x titles.
