You can still get them at
www.streetfightercontroller.com . Ebay has some new ones at half that price - but it's eBay.
does that SFII stick have that proper crisp, clicking feel that the DC stick has? - also is it square or octagonal gate?
It's octagonal, and about as high quality as you could get. I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed. If you want to go the extra mile, they're also selling a HAPP 360 edition (not for Xbox 360, it's just the name) which is the stick-standard many of Capcom's refurbished SuperTurbo cabinets are usually outfitted with. It's $30 more. But for the best ones,
http://www.massystems.com/ProStick.html . They've gotten a lot cheaper (believe it or not) and they custom build them with Perfect 360 sticks, which are optical, and used in most tournament ready arcade cabinets. You can also choose between getting JPN convex or US concave buttons (the SF Anniversary stick has convex buttons). It's a bit extreme, but they've always been the best.
Because I lose when I use a stick and I win when I use a gamepad. That simple. Some things in life just don't work for everyone
Thanks for the life lesson

Whether you've taken the time to learn a stick or would just rather play with standard controllers, there are some things quite impossible on a pad.
It makes no sense to me because a stick requires more movement than a pad does, and more movement means slower response. I'd rather move my thumb, instead of my entire arm, because my thumb is going to do the job twice as fast.
Try holding the arcade stick differently (looser maybe). You shouldn't be using your entire arm, just your wrist - you must be clenching it completely. It's just two rapid taps for a high jump "up-down". I don't see d-pads being quicker because thumb movements like "up-down" are much slower than jolting your wrist lightly as you would for an arcade stick.
