I prefer the feel of chiclet keyboards. But it could be because I've been using them for a good 7+ years now. Mine is a 'gaming' chiclet keyboard.

We will probably want to coordinate a bit for this too. If it's anything like the original. Like, I take mainly left enemies and you take mainly right. Or something like that. Otherwise we both end up typing the same zombie to death, and that just isn't efficient.

Think I'm gonna cave and buy one of those Xbox PC controllers.

Do they work well with Joy2Key?

I haven't used joy2key with my Xbox wired controller, but I imagine they work just fine. For most modern games you won't need joy2key. And most of the doujin games I play don't need it either.

One thing I will say though is that I had to open up my Xbox 360 wired controller within a week of receiving it because of squeaky analog sticks. Needed a little oil.

Looks like you had this already answered for you.

Totally worth it though. The Xbox pad works with damn well everything these days on PC. I use it a lot for single player games. Even quite a few older games have had support patched in which is nice.

Yeah, Joy2Key works great with the xbox controller. I use it in Mame, Steam, and everything in between.

They usually work at default, but the one thing I always find myself needing to use Joy2Key for is D-Pad play. There is no way I could play Touhou, Crimson Clover, etc with an analog stick.

That's for the quick replies. 8)

I'm looking to use Joy2Key mostly for old DOS titles. Games that were designed with awkward keyboard controls or a two button joystick in mind. Games like Sorcerian, for example.

Now that I think of it, I should try to fire up my copies of Sonic CD, Sonic & Knuckles, and Sonic 3D Blast on this rig.

Minus the d-pad, I honestly prefer the feel of 360 controllers over DS3 controllers. Much better sticks, better triggers, etc. D-pad wise, I don't like either very much. But it looks like the Xbox One and PS4 versions make some much needed d-pad improvements.

Good point. I didn't think much of that because most shooters I use my arcade stick with. Analog sticks and scrolling shmups generally don't go together well.

Welp, here's a round up of what I got during the whole Black Friday week. We'll see whats available tomorrow too.

Dark Souls: $6
Dishonored GotY: $13
Divekick: $2
The Elder Scrolls Anthology: $25
Ether Vapor Remaster: $2
Fairy Bloom Freesia: $2
Final Fantasy VII: $4
Hammerwatch: $3
Jet Set Radio: $2
Mass Effect Trilogy: $16
Metro 2033 + Last Light + LL season pass: $20
NiGHTs into Dreams: $3
The Orange Box: $10
Sine Mora: $2
Street Fighter x Tekken complete pack: $15
Tomb Raider: $10
Torchlight 2: $5
Valdis Story: Abyssal City: $9
The Walking Dead + 400 days: $7
X-COM Collection: $10

Overall, spent over $170 for all of that.. Could have gotten some better deals. Could have probably not bought some of this stuff. But I think that I did alright overall. Sort of building up since I just got in to PC gaming. But from here on, or at least the Xmas sale on, I feel like I will not be buying very much besides new releases when they are discounted a bit.

As a general rule, when it comes to buying PC games, unless I really want the game when it comes out or it's cheap I always just binge during sale times to stock up for the 4 to 6 months between sales.

So far I've gotten Metro Last Light, The Wolf Among Us, and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. I'm hoping there are more games I want tomorrow or during a flash sale.
