Base exchange. More or less the retail chains (NEX, AAFES) that operate on US military bases. As mentioned, they can have good prices, and in general are tax free, but are limited to military personnel (and government civilians overseas).RCBH928 wrote:what is BX?

I never ever bought a game guide , you know the ones that look like a magazine. They were just so expensive for me , and of course you always have GameFAQs . Any one ever bought them or found them useful? Are they even still in print?
Supply can be...hit or miss.
Game guides can be very useful, though it depends on the game. These days, sure, Let's Play or Gamefaqs can be better (and free), but back in the day you weren't likely to get maps of levels or something other ways.
For some games they can also be almost an art book as well. Probably not as nice as actual art books or other prints/collectibles can be, but common and actually useful. Some people buy them more in the way that others would snag a Collector's Edition of a game.
There are still some that are made, but I feel like they're not as common as they were (where CEs are increasingly common).
