For $1 you get:

Pinball FX2 Core Pack
Pinball FX2 Zen Classics Pack
Pinball FX2 Earth Defense table
Pinball FX2 Paranormal table
Pinball FX2 Epic Quest table (Which is my favorite table)

For $6 you get:

Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles Pack
Star Wars Pack
Marvel Pinball Original Pack

If anyone picks it up, let me know so we can get some high scores going.
I'm really undecided on whether to get this or not. I really like Pinball, but I have some very old ones from 1995 onwards called "Pro Pinball" that I have only played "The Web" table on yet. Getting to know a single table is quite time-consuming.

On the other hand, PFX2 has good reviews I think and maybe I should just get these, 1 USD is dirt cheap for about a dozen quality tables. But then I don't feel nice about paying only 1 USD for the basic pack, because I think Paypal takes a significant chunk of that and the devs won't see much of it (although I guess better than getting zero from me either way).
I could also pay 6 for the extra tables, then I get 20 PFX2 tables that I don't know when I will have time to play.

Is PFX2 the best series of video pinball right now? I think there is one other ongoing quality series, or maybe even two others.

And they are not DRM free (I'm ok with Steam but I try to treat games there as a more or less indefinite rental).
If anyone has anything that may sway me one way or another, please post.

Ivo, the PFX2 tables are great. Plus you can compete against your Steam friends for highscores. Just don't even try to beat emwearz, cuz he's got such a supple wrist

I'm really enjoying http://www.paladinstudios.com Momonga Pinball Adventures. The graphics are incredible for a mobile game and the tables are really well thought out with tons of hidden bonuses.

Those playing pinball fx2, what table view do you use?
I use 4 or 7.

The "beat the average" gives you 12 more tables it seems. Really a lot of stuff. I'm pretty sure I won't have enough time to explore the tables for several years, but it is tempting as I think they are quality stuff.

I still have 4 days to decide, thanks.

I find I need to change between tables. But mostly I use the view that shows as much as I can see, without scrolling horizontal much.

Add me on Steam guys if you're playing PFX2, my id is the same as here.

I go between using a full table overhead view and a high-angled half-table zoom. I usually learn the table with the overhead view, but I like the semi-zoomed view for getting more precise shots. It's always a tradeoff between anticipating ball trails by seeing the big picture and having the visual acuity to make precise ramp shots.

I set out to beat jfe2's score on the Paranormal table, which I did, but I still only got halfway to emwearz high score.

Must. Train. Harder!
