I'm gonna repost this from the Pseudo sequels and spin-offs thread, just for the benefits of those keeping up on this thread.

Puzzle Bobble 2 (Neo Geo JP) became Bust A Move Again, but it has different versions. Taito America released a version with overhauled graphics and no Bubble Bobble characters on their F3 Hardware -

This version of Bust A Move Again also appears on the PS2 port of Taito Legends 2.

In 1999, SNK re-released the originally conceived Puzzle Bobble 2 as Bust A Move Again on the Neo Geo, but this time in its original Japanese presentation with the Bubble Bobble characters.

This version appears on the Xbox & PC ports of Taito Legends 2, and it was also ported as Bust A Move 2 on the PS1, Saturn and N64.

Thanks so much for finding this. I've spent way too much time reading through the drama on that site without much to show for it.

Maybe you can help me with another question- did Tonk ever release the rom for last odyssey pinball? He dangled it in front of everyone for a while before the aero fighters 3 event.

Ladies and gentlemen, my very first Neo Geo CD game. I'm officially in the Neo Geo crowd, now. There's no turning back; no turning back on the gamer's nature.

Been playing a couple of Samurai Spirits titles - the fighting game and the RPG - on and off. Good stuff!

How does this happen? Were they in the 4-in-1 packs or whatever?

Guess that would explain why GameFAQs doesn't have a US listing for either game.

yes. Those 2 games both had cartridges manufactured for the US (so the labels have the ESRB rating) but never made it to market until the console "died" and they just started pumping out those 4-packs of games. So those carts ended up making it into the 4-packs though they had not been released previously nor did they ever have boxes/manuals produced in the US.

Stupid question but my NGCD is packed away so I can't easily check myself:

Do NGCD games have multiple languages on them like the AES carts do? ie: if I put my (J) CD into a system that's set to (US), will it play in English? I ask mostly for SSRPG, but other games as well...
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

I don't think SSRPG will have English text...... Otherwise, why would there be a translation patch? Could be wrong. I have a Japanese NGCD so I can't test this myself.
