2) Direct the people to build towards the monster lairs ASAP - doing this will increase your population faster by enabling all buildings to be stronger/hold more people
3) Listen to what the people tell you for clues as to recover items to increase MP and magical abilities and other items needed for later developments
4) Try to get the population as high as possible before going to Act 1 of next level (get to and look for the "Max" message in the city status menu) because the character will level up at certain population goals & each level that you increase also increases your health. (although this won't work in Bloodpool after its Act 2 as music is needed from Kasandora first)
