I was really disappointed that the site didn't have a category for Visual Novels and that most of the games don't even have genre description or picture. Still a cool resource though.

Metal Shinobi Assassin

Metal Slug-esque action game. Haven't played it yet, but it looks like it should be worth checking out. Download link in the YouTube description.

I think I've posted this before, but for all things Visual Novel, check out this database:

http://vndb.org/

With that and the doujinstyle link, you've got quite a few bases covered.

Groupees has an indie bundle deal with all doujin games, many of which are quite good and previously mentioned in this thread.

Those shmups look good, the rest not so much.

Has anyone else played the Frontier Aja games? It's basically Castlevania, but your character can fly and shoot gems collected from the souls of enemies you defeat with your whip. Bosses are full on bullet hell shooter stages, and the main levels send threats at you from every direction. Well designed and pretty too.

What do you have against pigeon dating simulators? Racist.

I have played the Frontier Aja games. They are badass.

Aces Wild: Manic Brawling Action

Well, this isn't really a doujin from Japan. This was made by a guy in Laromie, Wyoming. But it looks like some classic Japanese arcade action.

Two new doujin shmups, developed by JynX (who has done fan-remakes of various Touhou PC98 games in the past). Download links in the description:
