Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Multiplayer? Mods? Good reasons to play on PC.

I think you misunderstand what I meant. You said "Why play the original?" implying why play the PC versions. I was just clarifying. Likely that's not what you meant, but I figured I would point it out.

Personally, I liked Red Faction, but that was really the only FPS I played on PS2, and I had more fun on the PC version...

Oh, I was referring to Timesplitters. Timesplitters 2 rocked and, while I've never played it, the original looks rather clunky in comparison.

Ps2 and other consoles before the Xbox weren't very good for FPS games. I just don't bother with them on Ps2.

The only FPS I actually have on a console would be Bioshock for the 360, which was simplified for the console market anyway and I'd rather play it in decent quality rather than how it would look with my now outdated graphics card.

Atari ST, Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Master System, NES, Mega Drive, 32X, SNES, Amiga CD32, Atari Jaguar, Saturn, Playstation, N64, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox360, Wii

Gamegear, Lynx, Gameboy (100s of the bloody things), Game & Watches (coming out of my ears)

And you just dissed TFC, but let's talk PS2 shooters here. So...

Timesplitters 2 seems to be occurring a lot in conversation in a positive light.

As for Fire Warrior, I agree. From what I saw of it I wasn't impressed.

A few of my friends enjoyed Darkwatch. I haven't gotten my hands on it, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Area 51 came out on PS2. I don't know if it was any better than the PC version, but on PC I'd say it's mediocre. What about Quake III Revolution? And didn't Unreal Tournament find its way to the console? Any thoughts on these? Also, what about SOCOM? Was it first or third person? And Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter found its way onto PS2. What about it?

Time Splitters trilogy, like everyone said. Especially the 2nd one. I've never enjoyed any other console FPS.

Never tried Timesplitters but if it is a lot like the other two you mentioned, I could care less. Goldeneye and Nightfire are extremely overrated and are only popular for their multiplayer.

The only reason to play the original Timesplitters would be curiosity, really. Both sequels were far superior (although TS2 was great I actually prefer TS3).

Quake III and UT are such popular names that I didn't think about them, but you do have a point, on the PS2 they're not so well known. SOCOM is third person and Advanced Warfighter, well, from what I've seen it's just plain awful, but I could be wrong.
