Oh, and the music levels are awesome, especially that final one.
Land of the Livid Dead this time around is 1 new music level and "8-bit" remakes of the all of the music levels. So not what you're expecting, but still pretty dang neat.

A lot of you have played this game, but it was my first experience with a game in the "Arkham" series. I loved it. It combines great third-person "metroidvania" gameplay with a classic Batman story, incredible atmosphere, and thrilling boss encounters. As someone who read quite a few Batman comics as a teenager, I enjoyed all of the references scattered throughout the game's beautifully realized world, and I ended up completing all of the Riddler's challenges almost by accident. I highly reccomend this game to anyone that is a fan of either Batman or "metroidvania" gameplay, and I am very much looking forward to spending some time with the sequels.

Metal Gear Solid isn't half as fun as the Batman Arkham games.

I know what people are thinking, too. "You're a comic fan, of course you like the Batman games better." Granted, but I was never big follower of the Batman titles. When it comes to DC I'm more into Green Lantern, Superman, JLA, and JSA.

I don't feel like the Arkham games have the same flow to them as MGS. I felt like the Tomb Raider reboot was a lot more like Arkham Asylum than the Uncharted series though. So I'd say to check that out if you liked the setup of AA. It's less of a brawler, but the Metroidvania-ness and upgrade system are very similar.

At times, perhaps. The "predator" sections break up the game quite a bit, but I personally think that the game borrows a lot more from the Metroid Prime series.

I enjoyed the Metal Gear Solid games, and while I have only played the first game in the Arkham series (and while I have not played the fourth game in the Metal Gear Solid sereis), I cannot say that I enjoyed Batman: Arkham Asylum twice as much.

We don't all have to like the same thing, however; so, I don't take any offense to the fact that you did not like the MGS games. I recognize the series' short comings, and they certainly aren't for everyone.

I liked Arkham Asylum just fine, but I wouldn't even put it in the same playing field as the best Metal Gear games. Arkham Asylum is an above average third person action game. Metal Gear Solid 1-3 are among the best video games ever created. I don't think AA is going to go on 10 years from now being able to say that. I think the batman craze that The Dark Knight stirred up had a lot to do with its popularity. Not that I mean to take anything away from it, as I do feel that it's a genuinely good game that holds its own.
