Classes? I'm a horrible student, it'll get worse in college. I'm top ten in my class, which I guess says something, but then again I haven't ever studied. And don't get me started on that "college experience" bullshit.

Sounds like you're not ready for college yet. Take a few years off.

If you want a PS2 I have two of them available for "real low cheap".

/shameless plug

Speaking of being a college student. I need more money.

I'll be the contrarian: Either BC model PS3 is damn awesome and, imo, the best way to play most of the PS2 library. Well worth the extra coin.

And there should be time in college for games- don't worry about that. But go to class, too.

I'm thinking I'll get a slim, but I'm not completely sure on how my money situation is. I don't think I can get the cash soon, and if I were to ask for it for christmas, that would probably be the only thing I would get, so I'll have to figure out my options on that.

One reason I was looking into it was for Demon's Souls/Dark Souls, because I've heard better things about the communitys, and that they are bigger. Is that true?

Just chiming in...my family has owned a 20gb PS3 since launch and it has been extremely reliable, as in not a single issue. It hasn't even been given the TLC that it probably deserves. It replaced a defective slim PS2 and has been playing PS2 games probably more than PS3 games for a long time now. The 20gb is not wireless though...needs to be plugged into the lan. Hope you get what you want though, can't really go wrong.

Amazon is about to have 12 GB PS3's on sale for $150. It's their Black Friday sale so you kind of have to hurry as they have a limited amount of units.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll get one of these, and then a hard disk mount and a big SATA drive.

They aren't on sale yet, right? They're still listed at $199...

I'm also thinking I might get the one that is $199 and comes with The Last of Us and the new Batman game. I'm not sure which is really the better deal, and I don't really want that Batman game.
