So for those of you going through with it: enjoy! I'm sure I'll be joining you in time. Hopefully it doesn't take me until next summer to see some titles on this that are worth my attention.
Xbox One
Re: Xbox One
Well I slept on it and decided to cancel the preorder. If there was even one retail exclusive that I was interested in I think I'd probably bite - but at this point the smaller online games I was pumped about have too many poor reviews or built-in problems and the larger retail games I was going to pick up are also available for the PS4.

^ I was flip flopping on cancelling my preorder as well, but ultimately decided to stand pat and go through with it. Honestly I would've bought it eventually and it would've been well before a price drop so I might as well feel the sting on day one.
I settled on Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5. Like someone mentioned on the last page I also didn't care for the first two Dead Risings but that was because of technical issues (ridiculous save system) that they seem to have ironed out for this game. Forza I decided on because even though I think the series has a ham-fisted design the games are gorgeous and sound amazing. Not to mention I think the career mode is good and there's a lot of other frills, I just still don't understand in past games why they utilize the format used to select what race you want to participate in. Never liked it, but maybe they'll tweak it in my favor. If not the game is still really good IMO.

Re: Xbox One
No I just bought a PS3 like six months ago lol. Spending over $1000 on these is crazy talk, at least for me personally. If they each had 2-3 brand new properties that were being received really well? I'd be really tempted, but not with these lineups. The days of being wowed by brand new horsepower in these systems and exciting new properties died with the PS2 and original Xbox in my opinion. Only reason I decided on this purchase was because I've been an Xbox guy and I think there's at least a small chance they will actually follow through on some promises as far as what it'll be able to do outside of gaming. It's a thin defense but I knew I was going to buy SOMEthing and that's how I decided. The PS4 seemed like PS3.5 as someone else said in another thread.dsheinem wrote:Did you get a PS4 as well?Snatch1414 wrote:^ I was flip flopping on cancelling my preorder as well, but ultimately decided to stand pat and go through with it. A close friend did get a PS4 and is also getting the Xbox. Only saw/played Killzone. It was nice I guess, but for the most part is was another shooty shoot game. That's fine, but other than much improved draw distance and slightly better lighting its a PS3 game if I'm being completely honest.
I even read just today that Forza looked good and better than 4, but not THAT good. Oh well. In a perfect world Watch Dogs wouldn't have been delayed and Metal Gear would've been finished in time for day one.

I've gone through the same process and decided that I will end up with one within the next year anyways. Therefore, I might as well just go for it on day one. I'll stick with my pre-order that I've had on Amazon since June for a Day One edition.Snatch1414 wrote:^ I was flip flopping on cancelling my preorder as well, but ultimately decided to stand pat and go through with it. I really wish there were some kind of B2G1 on games though, which was awesome for the PS4 launch last week.

Actually , it makes a difference if you wait a year. Prices will drop on games and if the system had any issues they might have cleared them out , but that is your decision.
Since almost most games are shared between XboxOne and PS4 I was wondering which would give a better experience. This might be subjective , but I think the Xbox online experience was much better on the opposite of the PS3 XrossMediaBar which is kind of confusing and its constant updates. On PS3 there seems to be an update every time you switch it on. I also think the XBL market place is better looking and easier to use. I wonder if other shares the same opinion.
We will have to see how the new firmware/OS on these consoles work, but I think the XboxOne is almost similar to the current 360's dashboard except for color change?

Yet another average launch title. I really wonder what the first game that isn't possible on older consoles (bar major compromises) will be.

Re: Xbox One
I think the feature is cool in the sense that I like the idea of being able to play a game while watching TV on the same screen. (As it is now, I do most of my gaming sitting at my desk while the TV behind me is on.) That said, I find it telling that most of the coverage I've heard/read on both of these new consoles this month has been about their "features" rather than their games.dsheinem wrote:http://kotaku.com/plugging-an-xbox-one- ... 1468278336
now I wish I'd kept my preorder
Re: Xbox One
They will cover games when there are more games.
