Wii on PC monitor, help please.
Wii on PC monitor, help please.
I've just ordered a chipped Wii and am looking forward to some waggle and Gamecube games
but I don't own a TV. I do own a pretty huge computer monitor with a VGA and DVI input. What's the best way to go about hooking these up? Many thanks.

I don't beleave the Wii has anything better than component video. So unless you can get something to convert component vid to vga, I'm not sure what your wanting to do is feasable.
I think we need someone smarter than me to throw in thier 2 cents, but I can't see it woking out.(not cheaply at least)

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Just need a component to VGA converter. They're both analogue signals and not much conversion is needed really. The cheaper the converter the worse the quality will be though.
If you use a CRT you'll probably get a half decent picture but if it's LCD it'll probably look shocking as the 640x480 that the Wii outputs at will be heavily stretched to fit the higher resolution. Basically meaning that all the pixels are stretched so that it uses the entire screen, unless the LCD monitor supports 1:1 pixel mapping, but in that case the screen will be tiny on your LCD monitor.

UMMMM guys there is a Wii Vga cable. I have this and currently use on a huge vga monitor I stuck in my arcade cabinet.

Supports PS3 and Wii so you get 2 cables for the price of one. Comes in a really cool box with instructions as well and works like a charm.
I am so looking forward to playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom on my arcade cab next month WOO HOO!!!
