So if I buy this and VGA Dreamcast cable will it work fine on my HDTV?

another question , why does the box has 1 audio input ? Shouldn't it have 2 , 1 for the white cable and another for the red?

it's an 1/8" stereo jack. Like the ones on headphones.

I actually have this same cord also, it was a great buy. I am thinking about getting my hands on a performance vga box. :)

I was afraid of that. When you said not cheap, I was thinking maybe something in the $50 range tops, but anything I can find is more in the 200 area. Oh well, s-video looks good enough I suppose.

Why not shoot for a VGA to Component converter?

monoprice has one:

Okay, so I bought one of these. Not the monoprice one but one from eBay with the exact same features and specs. When running in 480p mode the image is pushed slightly to the left cutting about a 1/4 of an inch off of the picture. 720p and 1080i seem to work fine but my TV does not allow me to stretch the image vertically, so I can't fix the aspect ratio. When hooked it up to my LCD it gives me a signal not supported message in 480 but works fine in720 etc. Anyone else using one of these? I think i got a bad one but I'm not sure.

I'm trying to use VGA on my CRT HDTV where I play all my Sega systems. However, this TV does not have a VGA port. It only has 1 HDMI, 2 S Videos, 2 Composites, 2 Components.

Anyway, I don't want to use up my HDMI port because I use that to stream videos from my computer. So I would prefer to use one of the components inputs.

I use a cheap VGA cable (not the box):

Do you think this will work with my VGA cable?

It says it takes input of VGA at 640x480 (60/75 Hz), so I think it should be fine as long as the output is decent and it doesn't introduce too much lag.

Anyone have input on this VGA Box:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Retro-bit-for-S ... 3cda1824b5

I currently have a regular VGA cable (no box), but this box on eBay is going for $35.00. I'm debating if I should buy it or not. It looks like it was the same one sold on the RacketBoy store.
