For a number of reasons. Better quality, remote control for pause and rewind, being able to fast forward commercials.samsonlonghair wrote:Why would you need a DVR? just watch online. That's why I posted the link.

I just torrent them and play them on my PS3, alot faster than a DVR, at least my DVR is pretty slow and wonky.Ziggy587 wrote:For a number of reasons. OK, I just got caught up on four episodes of Korra. I was not expecting to see four new episodes on Nick.com today. What a nice surprise. I have to collect my thoughts to better express myself. For now, I'll just say that I am generally pleased that this season ended so well.

To each, his own. I just set my DVR and it remembers for me. Whenever I'm ready to watch the episode, it's right there waiting for me. I don't have to download anything. It's already in full HD, where as a rip might be a lower resolution and/or compression. But whatever works for ya, whatever.Hazerd wrote:I just torrent them and play them on my PS3, alot faster than a DVR, at least my DVR is pretty slow and wonky.Ziggy587 wrote:For a number of reasons. The trick was remembering to set the DVR correctly. I FINALLY remembered to do this before this last episode. I just set it to record all new episodes and end 2 minutes late. Now I don't have to worry about the last 30 seconds getting cut off anymore.
What is still bugging the shit out of my is this show The Mentalist that I've been watching on CBS. For some reason, even though I have the DVR set to record the show properly, the first half hour will be some other show, then it only records the first half of The Mentalist and I have to watch it on the CBS website. I think this happens from football games ending late (it airs on Sundays). At least if I have to watch Korra on Nick.com it's not SO bad. The quality is alright, but I still miss the remote control. Having to watch the same 2 or 3 commercials multiple times is pretty annoying though, especially because they're Nick commercials so it's not anything that pertains to me in the first place. But with The Mentalist on CBS, not only do I have the same complaints as stated already, but the quality is shit. Not only is the video just poor quality, but it's really dark for some reason too. It's no bueno.

But it didn't end yet, there's still one episode left!samsonlonghair wrote: For now, I'll just say that I am generally pleased that this season ended so well.

What? Maybe that DVR isn't working as well as you think, Ziggy. The season finale is available online already, but I know you don't want to watch on nick.com, so I won't try to convince you again. I admit watching that Nerf "Rebelle" commercial over-and-over again is annoying.
Re: Avatar (airbender) fans: Legend of Korra release date!
I just checked. It's kinda weird. The last episode I watched was "Harmonic Convergence," and it aired (for the first time) on November 15th. There's two more episodes after this one for this season, and for whatever reason both of them became available online on the 16th, although they wont air on TV until the 22nd.
So, no, my DVR is fine.
Being that the cliff hanger of Harmonic Convergence was a bitch, I guess I could suck it up and watch the last two episodes online. On the other hand, I've been VERY busy and for the first time in a while I can actually wait until they air on TV.
But no matter when I decide to watch them, since they've already been viewed, I'm gonna make sure I don't get them spoiled for me. I'll be ignoring this thread until I watch them.
