I know your trying to cut the list down and not add to it. But I can't help but throw in Klonoa 2,Lunateas veil. I don't know that it is all that much of a rarity, but I've never seen a copy for sale anywhere and I know nobody who has it either.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I think Katamari should almost have its own listing. Its not mainstream, but alot of people know about it. Its not hidden, but not many play it. Its just... well, Katamari.

There have been some excellent suggestions. I would like to mention Magic Pengel: the Quest for Color; it is a lot of fun and the game is still gorgeous 5 years later. You would think that a game that was animated by the folks at Studio Ghibli would have garnered a little bit more recognition... I like to think of it as a Spore mixed with Pokemon. Good times.

Have you considered adding games like Raw Danger, SkyGunner and Outrun 2006 C2C? All definitely unheard of by most people.

Katamari Damacy/We Love Katamari
pretty much very well known in the gaming community. The only people I know who don't know of it, I don't consider gamers. You know, either they don't play, only play Guitar Hero, or are the guys who only play Gears and Halo

Shadow of Collosus
A little less well known the Katamari... a HUGE cult classic... the cult following can kinda bring it towards the "hidden gems" section. But in my book it really doesn't belong. It certainly deserves an honourable mention!

Ico
This follows my Shadow statement, not hugely well known, but not hidden enough. Honourable mention of course!

Physconauts
HIDDEN GEM!!!!!!!!!!

Okami
this hits my hidden gem list...

Beyond Good & Evil
ehhhh... ummmm.... this was a pretty well known cross platform title. And the creator is constantly leaking stuff for his latest version... though it isn't exactly on the table. I don't know. I'm gonna have to say no.

Rez
Hidden Gem material. Before the XBOX Live release of it, it was the only US version, and even then not many people even knew it existed. That and the XBOX live one still doesn't give it much light. It is certainly one of my all time favourite titles, so I have a lot of bias. But I say yes.

Disgea Series
No opinion... RPGs and PS2 in my book don't mean shit... just to many. BUT because there are so many to sift through, and if you think this is one of the more notable series. Then yeah sure, shine some light on it. It definitely is "hidden" in a massive pool of shitty to good RPGs on the PS2.

Maximo Series
NO

Odin Sphere
YES

Armored Core Series
NO

Sly cooper Series
Never heard of it

Viewtiful Joe Series
uhmmm... hard to say. I think it's well known.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner
Wow... I haven't heard anything on this game in YEARS. I don't know...

Yakuza
never heard of it

Killer 7
uuuhhhnnnnooooo

Guilty Gear Accent Core
Guilty Gear? No

Gitaroo Man
Hidden gem worthy

Red Faction
NO

Ape Escape 2 & 3
HAHAHA, yes, just because it's Ape Escape!!!

Dark Cloud
This follows my Disgaea statement... and it was a well made RPGesque title. So yeah.

R-Type Final
Gradius V

both should get a yes, only because sh-mups get NO love anymore and they certainly get overshadowed by everything else. So that certainly fits the "hidden" definition in my book.

I also didn't really like the PS2, so keep that in mind when reading my comments. But in retrospect, the fact I certainly know some of those games inside and out and yet I never owned a PS2 says a lot about its "hidden" factor.

Anyways, I love what my friend said when I asked him (he was a PS2 guy, even did the whole hang out in front of the store on release day... he even got arrested while waiting for it, for skipping school).

(01:54:52 AM) lordofduct: you were a big PS2 fan
(01:55:02 AM) lordofduct: name me some games on the PS2 you would call "hidden gem" worthy
(01:55:11 AM) lordofduct: meaning, not well known, or hidden in a sea of popular titles
(01:55:14 AM) lordofduct: and are extremely good
(01:56:45 AM) Adny: IQ
(01:57:06 AM) Adny: i personally like vagrant story
(01:57:12 AM) lordofduct: those are PS1
(01:57:16 AM) Adny: oh
(01:57:18 AM) Adny: OH
(01:57:23 AM) Adny: ps2?
(01:57:32 AM) Adny: pawn it, get ps1 and those games
(01:57:35 AM) Adny: hidden gems.
(01:57:40 AM) lordofduct: hahaha
(01:58:00 AM) Adny: nothing really jumps out
(01:58:21 AM) Adny: either im tired or the ps2 sucked

On the topic of Clover releases;

GODHAND should be considered gemworthy. It is one of the most ridiculous games I have ever played.

Thanks -- and guys, REALLY, don't bother listing ones that aren't in the first post. I already have all the others in my master list. I've got ya covered!

I was wrong - it sold 280,000.

http://kotaku.com/5031280/okami-on-wii-didnt-do-so-well

Hopefully it has sold another 20,000 copies in the past three months so it breaks even anyways. Unfortunately, Kotaku doesn't cite their source, and go on to say that this is actually pretty low sales. They seem good to me, considering it's an older port with waggle tacked on. Mostly profit, it should be.

And sorry I haven't check this thread in a few days, I would have rather answered sooner!
