So, with the next gen consoles on the way it's only a short matter of time before new games stop coming out for 360 and PS3. After owning it for about two years now I still only own 27 games for my 360, only 5 of which are actually exclusive. Every other game is available on either PS3 or at least PC. Of those 5 exclusives, 3 of them are Halo games which I wouldn't miss much. The other two are Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia, fun but slightly mediocre JRPGs. I don't have much interest in bullet hell shooters or Gears of War, so there really isn't anything else I'm looking to buy for the system.
So with the prospect of building my own gaming PC on the horizon some extra spending money would be very useful. Unfortunately for my 360, that means it's gonna get kicked out. Hopefully though I can play through Vesperia and Lost Odyssey before I do that. Or at least play them long enough to get bored.
Now for the questions. I've never sold a console before, and only ever sold a few games to gamestop. So where would you all recommend going to sell it, all my 360 games, the one controller, and the 250 GB hard drive? Where would give me the best price, or be most hassle free, etc?

I can't give prices, selling recommendations, etc. but be sure you clear your personal data before selling your unit.

Oh yes, I plan to. Never bought anything online, so my credit card information isn't tied to my account in any way. The rest of it I plan to delete though, yeah.Opa Opa wrote:I can't give prices, selling recommendations, etc. but be sure you clear your personal data before selling your unit.

360's aren't going for much tbh. I just picked up a second unit, with 3 controllers, and 10 decent games for $100 / shipped.
Your best bet is to sell the unit separately - include one controller.
Then sell your other controllers and add ons separately.
Then sell your games individually or in mini bundles - depending on what games they are, etc.
As for where to sell...well of course offer up here first, i'd think. No fees and most likely no hassles.
After that - craigs or ebay are the next logical choices. Although gamestop or local store might be your best bet on the actual console as you wouldn't have to ship it, so while it would be less than you'd get if you sold it online, you wouldn't have to pay $15-20 to ship it.

I tried selling my 360, after a while I said fug it when I realized how little value I'd get back. Figure I could learn to love its exclusives. Since then I at least got Project Gotham Racing which is pretty rad.

I don't know if it's me or not but I always perceived the Xbox 360 with low resale value compared to the PS3 and Wii. Wii I feel will be relevant for quite some time due to it being extremely easy to hack the thing for retro pleasures. The PS3 is useful because of Blu-Ray support and no pay wall for Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. Again this is my opinion but that's how I look at it.
In terms of how you should sell it you should avoid a bundle at all costs. Sell games together that are related like the 3 Halo games. Those should go quickly since the holiday season is right around the corner. Add at least one game to the system and sell it with cables and a controller.

I've been able to find 360's on cheap, locally on craigs and on ebay. Your best bet is try to get some credit for it towards one of the new consoles. Gamestop etc... If you don't want to take that route. Just hold on to it and enjoy it!
