Yeah, they card for these in NE. It's expensive shit too.

Regarding the "how does it work" question, canned air isn't just air. It's a fluorocarbon that acts like a drug. It has a lot of non-specific effects on neurons, from changing the properties of ion channels, to altering the fluidity of their membranes. Neurotoxicity isn't usually due to oxygen deprivation, but due to overstimulation(excitotoxicity), but they do have a depressant effect on respiration. The fluorine atoms are also really bad for your liver. It's all around bad stuff.

If you're going to huff somethign, huff nitrous. It's less toxic, but still use only in moderation.

Meh. If that's your response to anything moderately risky, you're not going to experience much of life. A few balloons of nitrous during your quarterly mushroom trip is an astounding experience, and one with very few downsides. You take a much bigger risk, for a much smaller payoff every time you hop on a motorcycle.

That's my response to something where I know of one person that died and another that stopped breathing for probably 20 seconds because they didn't know when to stop escalating the 'thrills'. She took another huff even after waking back up and even joked that she'd stopped breathing before and had other drug use issues. I'm sure she's long dead by now. :(

Anyway... proper canned air etiquette when dusting... yeah.

Not everything is worth experiencing.

It may be worth pointing out that this is a publicly visible forum. Even if you do think it's a good idea to do drugs, it's probably not a good idea to encourage drug use in a publicly visible space.

Just my 2 cents.

What he is talking about is whip-its or nitrous. It is basically a small shot of the gas you get at a dentist office.

I use the stuff at work on a daily basis and I have never had it damage any PC or Server I've worked on.

I had a buddy who used to huff the stuff, not to get high, but because it made his voice drop super low. Pretty much the exact opposite of helium. It is a neat thing to hear, but I don't recommend anyone try it. Aside from the brain damage, what if you were to have the can tilted and have the freezing cold air go into your lungs.

Ykes
