Personally the thing that always get's to me and the thing that inspired this thread is the Flamelurker boss from Demon's Souls. I have beat Demon's many times. I've beaten Dark Souls many times. And for every single boss battle in both games I have, at one time or another, beaten them by myself without having to summon another player for help. Except for Flamelurker. I'm not sure what it is about him, whether it's his high damage or his mobility or his aggressiveness, but I have never been able to defeat that boss while playing by myself. This irks me so much because now I imagine a future where the multiplayer servers eventually go down and I'll suddenly not be able to play through one of my favorite games any more because I'm too much of a scrub to beat Flamelurker.
Feel the shame. Challenges in games you've never completed.

All of us I'm sure have felt this at one time or another. Some little thing, an achievement/trophy, just some self-set challenge you wanted to complete, or even an entire game, that you feel like you should have gone and done. You should have been able to beat it. But for one reason or another you haven't been able to do so yet, and maybe you feel just a little bit of shame over that.

I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

I never got through the "legacy bosses" in Dragon Quest IX. I poured over 120 hours into that game; so, you would think that I would be prepared for them. Unfortunately, Baramos wipes the floor with my party after only a few rounds, and I just do not have the will to grind out the levels and job skills needed to defeat him. Likewise, I never made it through the extra dungeon in the Gameboy Color port of Dragon Quest III. Again, I just do not have the will power to grind out the levels necessary to get through it. (I love both games unconditionally, however; so, I will probably return to them someday.)

I never managed to beat Bee on Nightmare difficulty back when I played Pump it Up. I always got very close and could have beaten it with a little more practise but I started playing less and less and I lost the stamina to play that kind of crazyness.

I have never finished Sonic 1 with more than one emerald.
I've never beaten any Sonic game with all of the emeralds.

Never 100 percented anything.
Closest I got was something like 94/96 exits in Super Mario World. Was too lazy to go get the last ones I needed (which were dead end exits anyway)

I've never beaten any Sonic game. Then again, I've only ever owned one Sonic game.alienjesus wrote:fastbilly1 wrote:I have never finished Sonic 1 with all the emeralds.

I've never beat a Mario game except SMW2 and Partners in Time. The easiest two of the series.

Whaaat? There's people on Racketboy that've never gotten all of the Chaos Emeralds?
Well, I've never beaten a Legend of Zelda game.
I also have more than a few games that I've never completed due to being discouraged or losing a save.

I am in that boat. I have beaten Sonic, Sonic 2, and Sonic CD, but I never found any of the game so compelling that I had to go back through them for all of the chaos emeralds.GSZX1337 wrote:Whaaat? There's people on Racketboy that've never gotten all of the Chaos Emeralds?
On topic, I have never collected all of the scarabs in Ninja Gaiden (Xbox/PS3). A few of them are "missable", and I just did not have the will power to go back through and get them all.
