It's about 39 here in Atlanta. I'm actually quite happy with this, as hopefully it's a sign we'll have a real winter. In the last ten years we've had some odd and nonexistant winters. I remember in 2006 I walked out in January in the mid-70s and saw bees pollinating flowers. That winter sucked.

Could be from growing up in Chicago, could be my German blood, or maybe I'm just a weird-o, but I love freezing cold weather.

My car's windshield covered in ice, seeing my breath, that feeling in your lungs that makes you think you may have stopped breathing, the glare the frosted grass gives off in the morning, rosy cheeks, girls bundled up but still having the shivers...these are a few of my favorite things.

Don't get me wrong, I like women in bikinis as well, but I LOVE frigid weather.

That's because you get it in small doses and it reminds you of childhood. If you got it 1/3 - 1/2 the year, you'd not be so nostalgic and chipper about "seeing your breath" and the "frost on the car window". Barf.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that I hate the heat, and I'm usually surrounded by it. I don't care for the beach, at all, and I don't like wearing t-shirts and shorts. When the weather is cold I can run a mile and not have to wring out whatever I am wearing.

Speaking of, when it is cold outside I finally get to wear my jackets, sweaters, scarfs, hockey sweaters, sport coats, vests, leather gloves, and other items that usually stay in the closet for 340 days of the year.

Plus...not having to mow the yard is good stuff. So is throwing a football around that is solid as a rock.

I am with Luke here. I love the colder weather. It is easier tonget warm than cool off. I like wearing cold weather clothing and jackets and such. I hate the sweltering heat Id take 20 deg over 100 any day. My ideal outside weather would be in the 50s.

No wonder your air conditioner makes so much noise.
