I beat Killzone 1 for the first time earlier this year. I had a fun time. Games graphics were also top notch for PS2... well minus the goofy player death animation lol you fall down like a string puppet :P

There were some difficult & intense sections later in the game. Well worth your time. Are you playing the HD compilation or on the original 480i on PS2?
I was planning on playing the HD Compilation, until I read reviews on it that said it was still pretty botched. So I stuck to the PS1 version that I owned. I actually finished it last night, this is my thoughts from the games completed thread.
So I have tried playing this a few times, each time I just could not get into it. It has some massive flaws. The frame rates issues, weapons are massively unbalanced, it becomes repetitive even within the same stage, it is really buggy, there is constant 'holes' between where polygons meet. I feel it could have ran a bit smoother if they did not bother with things like rag doll physics.

Despite all the flaws there is an alright shooter in there, you can see they were ambitious by what they did with the sequel. Its flaws keep it form being anything other than average.

Logged into Steam this morning and noticed Bioshock Infinite is updating a 5.4gb download.

Burial at Sea Episode 1 just dropped, not sure if Season Pass holders got it earlier as I can't find it on the Steam page, but if you have a season pass get into it.

I will be starting this the second the download finishes.

Yeah, I'm hoping to have time soon!

Ok so I really want to play stalker now that I've built a PC. Should I play them on order or just jump inn with the best one? Also are there some good mods I'll need to pretty it up or anything to get the most out of the game?

I'd say you should play both the original Shadow of Chernobyl and then Call of Pripyat. Clear Sky is definitely the weakest and doesn't add a lot to the overall storyline. In terms of mods you should go through them pretty vanilla the first time (I don't know if there's just a bugfix pack, if so get that), as most of the other mods really ramp up the difficulty of an already difficult game.

CoP hits the open-world stuff better, but SoC has some amazing horror setpieces, so that's why I recommend both.

Yea keep the mods for your second playthrough.

I've borrowed BF4 to see how it looks on PS3. It's rather pretty even at such a low resolution, but the campaign is tedious and uninviting. Now if only we got a mental SP combined with BF's superior physics.

I don't know, I had more problems with the first than I did Pripyat. But at least with SoC, you can patch it and then apply the two fan patches which really help make things more stable.

Killzone Shadowfall didn't suck me in for the first few levels, but it is growing on me as I get deeper into it. It is an interesting but flawed FPS, but it's clearly a step backwards from K2 and K3 :(

Playing Killzone 2 myself for the first time finally and I'm decently impressed. Only thing I don't love is the FOV/perspective. It's just kind of weird and almost disorienting when you're really close to other people at first. Other than that the heaviness isn't a bother at all, rather I just have to get used to the dualshock again for FPS's.

Great enemy AI, great atmosphere (despite the story being whatever), and yeah. Also very impressed how well this has aged visually, I'd say it's up there with MGS4. This and the other PS3 exclusives are probably proof that the PS3 could do a little more than the 360, we just didn't get to see much of that potential with most games being multiplatform nowadays. But yeah now I'm pretty curious to see how Killzone 3 looks after being really impressed by 2.

I've joked myself about last gen being kind of brown at times, but in cases like Killzone 2 here... I mean it just completely fits. It's an utter warzone and so I think the dark shades perfectly fit the game.
