I could edit in some salacious pictures and lock the posts.BoringSupreez wrote:Those could really come back to haunt a guy.

Re: Looking to delete/deactivate account?
Users have the right to request account deletion and I'm always surprised when people balk at the thought. Some of us just like having loose ends tied up. When we leave, we actually want to be gone.
Is it a difficult process for the Powers that Be? If not, I don't see any legitimate reasons to deny the request (or pick on someone for making it, however good-naturedly).
As a side note, I knew of one site that had a policy against deleted accounts specifically for the purpose of dishonestly maintaining large "registered users" numbers. Pretty lame, in my opinion.

Re: Looking to delete/deactivate account?
In my short experience here the mods are very finicky with deletion of posts, accounts, and threads, unless it is outright spam or extremely offensive. I've kind of always laughingly chalked it up to some collective sense of preservation being that the staff is made up of retro video game collectors/enthusiasts.

Yea. I wanted to change my account name. Heard it was possible. But it never happened.

Fine geez you guys are no fun.
I'm sure if there were some dramatic reason to do so a mod could have been contacted directly. But whatever, deactivated and I guess I'll just lock the thread too.
