I have. It felt awful. The grips are really uncomfortable and the buttons feel stiff.

That's too bad! The button layout is amazing.

There's always that Hori controller, but it's expensive and the d-pad on it is tiny.
Hyperkin? I wouldn't bother unless you see some trustworthy first-hand experience. Maybe a review from a fellow modder or something.Ziggy587 wrote: I haven't tried one yet, but this reminds me, I've wanted to. I have one. It was kind of odd for the time, but the layout does allow for more easily using the entire controller. I used it often back when the N64 was current, never had a problem.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Anyone have experience with this controller?

I have one. The Analog stick is made of metal rather than plastic. It still holds up years later. Nintendo's first-part N64 controller has a better D-pad, but this one has a better analog stick.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Anyone have experience with this controller?

Playing Paladin's Quest again. It owns. I may just have to import Lennus II (I've emulated it in the past).

Looks like a much cheaper option than the Hori! Thanks for sharing it! I hate the normal N64 controller, and this might remedy that and make N64 gaming a bit more enjoyable for me.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Anyone have experience with this controller?
But did you mean to post this on the SNES thread?

Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
The last page or two some how diverged into N64 talk. I vote that we splice it out and/or just create a "How is your N64 gaming going?" thread. I'm surprised there isn't one already, being that we're doing these end-all threads these days.BurningDoom wrote:But did you mean to post this on the SNES thread?
From my memory... We've talked about them on the forums here a little. I remember talking about the "Gamecube-like" sticks for a while and I decided to finally get some to try out. They're great, but a little too sensitive. Then these other replacement sticks came out, and they have a skinny shaft like the stock 64 stick. I'm assuming they ARE the Hyperkin sticks we were talking about (unless there's a THIRD replacement stick available). Anyways, I seem to remember some one saying that they tried it. It's a vague memory though, and I might be making this up. It's suppose to not be too sensitive like the Gamecube-like stick, and I didn't hear anything bad reported about it.AppleQueso wrote:Hyperkin? Maybe they suck, maybe they don't, but for $9 shipped I'll at least try one out. The Gamecube-like sticks are really great, but too sensitive for some games (mostly shooters or anything where aiming is done) so I've been hoping for a replacement stick that feels identical to a stock stick.
