Just butt-hurt that neither Next-Gen console is giving me what I want. In the past it has been so easy to buy a new console based on certain things. But this gen coming up.... man oh man. Times are getting tough.

I thought I was 100% PS4.... but they cut out the DLNA. That's probably 75% of what I use my PS3 for. With no killer IP, I might as well not buy any new console.

I think they might of done that to compensate for being the underdog. Since they're no longer the underdog there's no need for all that extra stuff. Just a thought.

PS3 had all those features and was being pushed as an all-in-one box from the very beginning. The "it only does everything" tag might've come later, but the concept was already there when it launched.

Sony was far from an underdog when the Ps3 launched. Did you forget the Ps2?

Yeah, my girlfriend is pretty pissed about the PS4 not being the "all in one media box" the PS3 was, because she wanted to kick the PS3 out of the main room (she's one of those people who thinks once you get a new console, you kick the old one aside and doesn't understand me hoarding consoles and having loads hooked up).

When I explained that we have to keep the PS3 connected in the main room if we want to carry on using it for music and videos etc, the 'wtf' look was priceless. It said it all.

It sounds like the Xbox One is slightly better. But still, not being able to play MP3s? What the hell is that?

That is exactly what I am thinking. My wife and I use our PS3 as all of our media, streaming, MP3s, video on the PC you name it. I would like to have something to replace it and still have those features.

You could hook the PS3 into the Xbox One using the HDMI passthrough. Maybe it'll fool your girlfriend.
