Greetings!
Please post your scores for MARS MATRIX in this thread.
Scores should be posted as such:
Score - name - team name - Stage - platform
EXAMPLE: 51,200 - dunpeal2064 - Bhutanese Snow Ferrets - Stage 2 - Arcade
More rules:
- Score for 1-credit runs only
- Played on default settings
- Arcade / MAME only
- Please post a screenshot of your score; particularly if that score is going to place you in the top end of scores
- Do not post scores unless it is higher than a previous posted score. When tallying scores, I will be tallying from the last page backward. If you feel very ambitious and want to help keep the tallying easy, you can go back and edit your score by putting a strike through itso we know a higher score has been posted by you.
- Top 2 scores from each team are counted - be sure to talk strategy with your teammates via PM or at minimum, make sure they get at least one score submitted.
- There has been talk of "prizes" such as games or free steam codes, etc. to be given to the winning team. There are no "fees" to enter and we won't say any member or any team has to do this, but if you would like to donate a prize to the winning team, I think we could arrange for that.
Scores can begin being posted at midnight EST tonight (12:01am - 11.8.13)
Good Luck!
RACKET STGT - Week 2 - MARS MATRIX scoreboard
Re: RACKET STGT - Week 2 - MARS MATRIX scoreboard

10,544,305,280 - DocHauser - The Columbian Hi-Ballers - Stage 3 - ShmupMAME4.2
The screenshot only shows a small fraction of the number of credits I've put into this recently. I'm still regularly getting a game over on Stage 2...

Re: RACKET STGT - Week 2 - MARS MATRIX scoreboard
As it sits, I can't get this game to run smoothly at all, on any of my three machines, in linux or windows. Multi core helps, but it still runs like ass. It "works" and claims it's running 100% speed, but the video has some tearing and the input lag is at least 2-3 frames. I spent several hours trying to get this to work smoothly while my dreamcast and PVMs sat in the corner watching and weaping.
I guess I'll try shmupmame... maybe that will help :/
P.S. I really, really, really hate emulators. Like the level of hatred that Eric Cartman has for hippies.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

^ This. I've yet to try it on my laptop. FWIW, I use shmupmame 3.0, and haven't had many issues. It runs Ketsui on my netbook like a champ.
I hope this works, simply because I genuinely enjoy this game.

or so you think

But in all seriousness at least it's working for you. Assuming you've played the PCB and/or DC versions to know it "feels" right?
shmupmame looks promising, I'll try that later tonight.

I've played the DC port yeah. It feels normal to me in MAME. Unless I'm missing something?

Nah, you're probably good. It was pretty obvious for me, I'd have the right rhythm going for the piercing cannon and then when bullets started flying it would slow-down just enough to trigger normal shot. very annoying. Also I could clearly tell the joystick was lagging, yet when I exit, it said avg speed 100%. Anyway i'll quit bombing this thread with posts until I get a score or get shmupmame working

Re: RACKET STGT - Week 2 - MARS MATRIX scoreboard
I'm using the same build as noise and it plays really well - no lag on your shot, vacuum, or movement. The sound is very quiet, but it's there. I recommend blasting the music on this one - so intense, love it.
Game gets brutal on 3rd stage if you try to keep that chain going - too many stupid deaths.
3.2 bil so far out of 3 runs, yuk.
Don't forget to use your piercing cannon for extra damage folks - so much depth for a 1-button game. This is one of my favs. I hope everyone gives it some run.

I'm running the same as mjm and noise. Smooth as my Dreamcast.
