Japanese Xbox 360 Warranty

Just wonderin' - is the warranty of a Japanese Xbox 360 still valid when you import it into the states?

Apparently yes, but I suggest not mentioning the origin of the console when you call. They can obviously tell what it is, but I believe it will not be noticed if they are just repairing it (they tend to do things without thinking, and it might not occur to the lower level people that JP 360s actually exist).

Also, if it just needs repairing, you will be okay. However, if they need to give you a refurbished console after getting 3 red rings, you will almost definitely get a US console back.
