There is a white version of the case I got. And I do like the look of it better.

I got my case for $55 and the white version goes for $90+ currently. I'll just pretend I didn't see it, for now. But definitely picking up a SSD after work.

Going from platters to solid state will be immediately noticeable, regardless of which make/model you choose. Ultimately I settled on a Samsung 840 Pro over the non pro model due to warranty (5 years)...that and I got a killer rebate and sale price on it.

I know about the speed of SSD. Use one in my rMBP all the time, and I've put SSDs in pretty much every laptop I've owned in the past 4 or so years. Samsung 840 EVO it is. I figured it wouldn't be worth it for a rig I'll only be using for games and video playback, but I can't resist.

Also the AMD R9 290 is ridiculously impressive for its' price.. Can't say I'm not tempted to return my GTX 770 for one of those. Wow.

Well excuuuuuse me, princess. That's what I get for assuming. It's worth it for a boot drive alone, IMO. 290 does look pretty tasty on paper.

Whoa I knew about the 290x but had no idea about the vanilla 290. Hmm it's probably best I just stuck with the 280x myself though since I won't be using anything higher then 1080p

Here's how it looks inside. I tried my hand at cable management and did the best I could. May have come out a little better if I completely disconnected everything first.

CPU under full load is hitting about 46°C per core. Is that reasonable? Still need to test the GPU. This is while encoding video.
