So, thanks to Stark, I am in the middle of downloading Mirror's Edge right now. Honestly Origin isn't too bad so far.

The download is taking longer then it would have in Steam. ME is a little over 7000 MB, and games of similar size would be done by now on Steam where as this game has been downloading for about 40 minutes and is still at 80% completion.

But on the flip side the actual app, when it comes to loading your friends list or games library and just in general switching to different tabs, actually loads a lot faster.

I hated it at first but they updated it about a year ago and all of the sudden I found myself playing IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey at 3 in the morning.

So yeah, tried it out, and it wasn't bad at all. Seemed to be no more or less intrusive than Steam. Honestly kinda surprised given EA's track record.

Thank you for the advice everyone, and especially you Stark, I think I'll be able to comfortably use Origin for a handful of games and not have to worry.

No problem! I'm personally glad to hear that uPlay has gotten better. Still need to go check it out.

Do all origin games use a web browser to launch or is that just a battlefield thing?

Only games that use Battlelog (Battlefield 3, 4 and the most recent Medal of Honor), all others launch from the client, like Steam.

Ok cool. I only have battlefield 4 and I completely suck right now since I'm still not fully acclimated to using a mouse and keyboard and I also don't know the level designs yet but if people want to add me I'm flex_would.

Origin is not that bad in my opinion. They have better service than Steam, although the games dont download as fast as Steam does. I have a few games on Origin and it's not that bad.
