mostly its like 14-27 maybe as target market...
videogames is made for younger people, its like an older guy enjoying "goose-bumps" book series...its nothing wrong, its just not his age i guess

there is games for adults like soduko or chess, maybe card games, as videogames. But its hard to see 38 year old enjoying mario galaxy and getting excited over it. If he does, suit yourself, but others might take the wrong idea.
you are wrong, biggest consumers are adults,

silly rabbit, nintendo are for kids, everything else is for adults.

Uhoh, I better play a ton of games once I am 35, as they will no longer be enjoyable when I turn 36....

Seriously though, I will play games for the rest of my life.

Okay, little rant here.

Regarding the last few posts, that's the attitude that annoys me, that gaming is for a certain age group. That's pretty much the root of the whole problem we're discussing here. It's a fucking stereotype. I know many of us(myself included)have been bashing the Wii for not catering to us hardcore types, but if it means that in a few years more people forty and up will play games, maybe we should be thankful.

And why is it okay to be into sports no matter what age you are? Sports are FUCKING GAMES!! Yet somehow they are more accepted and respected than video games? I see it all the time where I am. Guys in their forties and fifties talking about the latest football game, but they think video games are just for their kids. That's stupid. At least gamers actually interact with what they're playing. Most sports fans just sit on their asses watching other people play a game. Or they spend all their time talking about how awesome those athletes are, while we gamers are actually PLAYING our games and cheering for our OWN accomplishments rather than going on and on about how awesome OTHER players are

as far as the stereo type, its not a stereo type they are facts, adults are the biggest consumers of games. my age group (about 31) are the ones mostly responsible for the re-emergence of gaming in the 80 and thank us for what we have today, we made it happen, and we are the biggest game dorks around.

but actually a lot of OOoooOOO's and ahhhh's from my age group.
I have a big issue when I say I'm into gaming and they assume that means WOW.

I don't play WOW, I try to make it clear, but it's all the same to someone who's lost a friend or relationship to it.
god, its about the same way for me. i try to stay away from overly popular games that shouldnt be all that praised and try to suport games that should be praised like okami. i play a bit ddr or stepmaina and its instantly "oh he's should be good at guitar hero or rock band." but thats not true im only a medium at both games because it started to get overly popular a year after i started playing (i didnt play much anyways). and i finf guitar hero and rockband a compleate idea rip off because konami of japan made guitar freaks. people think automatically that i like wow just because i like mmo's but i hate wow in all reality. and when i try to tell them what i do like they hate me because its not a first person shooter (although i find them enjoyable its not my favorite style of game)
"ninja's wear clothing of every color so they can blend with the alphabet."-best friend concerning bushido blade 2.
my trade and sell list is right here: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 22&t=20601

N64, saturn model 2, ds, Dreamcast, ps1, ps2, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, xbox, 3DO, psp slim (v.3001.)
feel free to PM/IM me if you feel like talking to me.

you have to read my post though
if you are 36, 45, or 99 if you enjoy videogames do it

what i am saying is people around age 40 years old are not interested in videogames. They have kids, home, jobs, married, and they are probably thinking about making most money they can and trying their best to achieve their dreams as kids . To them, they won't look at mgs and say "wow cool, i gota have that!"..

again if you enjoy it , do it, but i dont think I will ever see games designed with people aged 40 years old as their main target.

go to game stop, their are plenty of 40+ year old managers making $9 an hour and play games all the time.

edit:(crap, just noticed im a hypocrite, here i am with my own discrimination in the gaming community)

ummm.......how about Bible Adventures for NES, that is directed for the older audience.

I love Bible Adventures.
Noah running around collecting the animals.
Those damn monkey's you have to pummel with a coconut to get them.
That game is great.
