Yet we played it over at TR last year  I fought like hell to beat it, and I did.

Came to say this. The SNES port has a special extra PUZZLE mode with puzzles designed by Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov.
Cool 8) , that's on my want list now. I've only had the NES version.
Woah, same here.

Yup. Here's a sample of the first 2 levels of the Puzzle mode, it plays a bit differently from the main game, you have a set number of moves to clear each screen of all the cookies -

I like my puzzle games to have stuff dropping from the ceiling, not coming up from the floor. *shrug*

@Exed: Yeah, I hated it when we did it for TR too. I lobbied hard to get Puyo in there instead that year.

of course I do. And in Bust-a-Move the bubbles come down from the top of the screen. And you shoot up at them. Same w/ Magical Drop.

I'd like to recommend Kablooey (otherwise known as Bombuzal) as an excellent SNES puzzle game. I have sunk hours into this game, and it never gets old.

Also on SNES, Tetris & Dr Mario bring the two best NES puzzle games together on one cartridge. Check out the two-player mixed mode where one player can play Dr. Mario while the other player plays Tetris in split-screen gaming goodness.

Ah, okay. When I first read that, I thought, "How does he not like puzzle games with anything coming from the bottom of the screen? I KNOW he likes BAM and MD"
