best SNES puzzle games

Post by The Nihilist »

I'm converting a PS3 demo kiosk into a fully functional SNES kiosk for the family. But I only want to rebuild my SNES collection as big as the baskets on the kiosk will allow.

What are the top 11 essential puzzle games and/or games that 4 people can play for the SNES? (Limited to only English)

So far I have tetris attack, lemmings, Mario art, and bomber man 2

The usual suspects: Kirby's Avalanche, Tetris & Dr. Mario, Bust-A-Move, Lost Vikings, and you can't go wrong with as many Bomberman games as you can get, they're all awesome.

Some not as popular ones that I like: Troddlers and Krusty's Super Fun House. They're sorta platform-y but still a lot of puzzle elements.

What about that Bomberman Puzzle game (Japan only, but it's a puzzle game, can't be too text heavy), I think it was called Panic Bomber or something. Any one played it? Any good?

I consider Yoshi's Cookie extremely underrated. One player is fairly average (but fun), but it really shines in 2-player mode. It's almost a whole different game in versus.

Warios Woods isn't a bad choice either, or so this guy claims:
http://ryangenno.tripod.com/sub_pages/WariosWoods.htm
(was released for both NES and SNES, he only has pics of the NES version, so don't let that fool you; he likes the SNES one better)
I like it too, however, I haven't spent much time with it.

As for 4-player games, everybody loves some NBA Jam, right?

Came to say this. The SNES port has a special extra PUZZLE mode with puzzles designed by Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov.

^Panel De Pon is my all time favorite puzzle game..XD

Also known as Tetris Attack in the US. Same game, but with Nintendo characters. @The Nihilist: seriously check it out. It's amazing.

Also +1 to Wario's Woods. I love that game.

Cool 8) , that's on my want list now. I've only had the NES version.

Clearly, you have never known the bliss that is Pokemon Puzzle League
(N64). There's just no denying the satisfaction of hearing the battle cries of cute monsters, growing in intensity with each combo.

Actually, I kind of suck at the game, but there's some definite appeal for me.
