Random Thoughts Thread
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
What's the project? And if you're helping partners, how do you have time to play Ocarina of Time yet not read a book?

He's wishing he was playing OOT, not actually playing it.

I know, but I'm a librarian. He's in a library, he ought to be wishing to read!

I should stop now.
Why stop then? I love whizzing outside in the cold. This coming from a guy who has walked barefoot in the snow to grab the mail.

He did specify OoT. Remember, it has the best video game storyline of all time
http://www.complex.com/video-games/2011 ... na-of-time
Ultima? Arcanum? Planescape? Silent Hill? (List goes on...) Those games didn't deliver fantastic sound effects, music, graphics and attention to detail so they can't be the picked as the best story in all of gaming.

The important thing is that Portal and Kingdom Hearts have a better story than Planescape: Torment.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
It does have many well written games there, the order is messed up and it's missing many less well known games that have better stories than many of the big budget titles on that list. And some games just have no business being there, quite many of them at the top. God of War, Resident Evil 4, Ocarina of Time? What the fuck. I love Chrono Trigger and Half Life but those games do not have the best stories in their respective genres, let alone of all time.
The problem is, like with "best video game characters" and other such top 10/25 lists, people want their "best game ever" to be the best in every category. It's the same in character polls, people want to vote completely dull characters like Mario, Link, Crono and Ness the best characters just because they like the games. That's fanboys for ya. You should be able to distinguish what makes the games you like great and in what departments they're not that great. And great story and great writing aren't always the same.
Oh yeah, Guinness book of world records ranked Call of Duty Black Ops as number 1 in "best game ending ever"
