Does anyone play games based on moods?

For example, if I'm angry I'd play an FPS or TPS, if I'm stressed I'd play a calming game like Kirby, etc.

Not really. I'm pretty chill most of the time. If I'm in a bad mood then I usually don't feel like playing games at all.

Shenmue is a great winter game to play. It takes place during the winter and the death of a father just screams the holiday spirit!

For me, I definitely have mood games.

When I have the urge to purchase things, I play JRPGs, when I am feeling creative, I play sandbox games. When I am feeling anxious and very restless, I play Solitaire Blitz or Bejewelled.

When I feel DISTRAUGHT and ALL MESSED UP I'll play something like The Art of Fighting.
I guess it's my nerdy manifestation of self-destructive behavior?

If I want to let out agression then I'll play a multiplayer FPS. If I need to relax I'll play a puzzle game.

Can't say I do. If I'm pissed off or overly stressed I usually go for a walk. The only mood that makes me want to play a game is "I'm in the mood to play something" mood.

I usually pick what game I'm going to play in regard to how much time I have.

Definitely.

The GTA series is great to play when I want to let off some steam, if I need a pick me up NHL 2002 always does the trick, and Endless Ocean is a game a play when I want to mellow out.

I tend to play games based on my mood, for sure. If I am full of angst I play a game where I can kill people (FPSs). If I am relaxed, I play an RPG or platformer.
