Metal Heads Assemble!!
Re: Metal Heads Assemble!!
M-A has that "death metal gems" thread or whatever that's just chock full of good stuff. I'd poke around in there.

Yeah I should probably use MA for something other than the video game thread.........
Re: Metal Heads Assemble!!
i had just never really listened to them. always was aware of them but never really checked them out. good shit for sure.
i primarily listen to thrash and nwobhm style bands, and i'm pretty particular about what kind of death metal i like. but those genres supersede black metal and doom for me.
play fast or die / too bro, too slow / etc.

Yeah, Vader is definitely a dm band that'd have a lot of appeal to a thrash fan.

Hell yeah, Vader's Thrash sounds (as well as their Thrash covers) make them real approachable to such fans. That's what made me listen to them.

Re: Metal Heads Assemble!!
It throws me off looking at Metal stuff on RYM versus MA, and how they look at various things and styles. RYM has a wider variety of opinions and coverage of course, but it seems like there is a like of new thrash bands and newer traditional bands, where as at MA there seems to be at least a very questioning view of them, if they are liked. But there is a bunch of fans of Black and Death there too, although they tend to get into the wanky sub genres quite often.
Also, you can find some good stuff hidden down in the various lists. For example, epic doom metal band Avatarium, with some good female vocals.

Never heard this band before, but they kick ass!
What sub-genre of metal is this considered? It sounds like punk rock with balls.

Boris goes through a lot of different sub genres in their discography, but from the tiny clip I checked of that it seems like their stoner rock/metal era.
