N64's library doesn't get enough credit, even if you ignore the import library, there's some nice games outside of the stock Ninty and Rareware titles.

Wasn't it released for Dreamcast too or am I thinking of Bangai-O?
You are indeed thinking of Bangai-O.

I think it was just a general lack of certain genres that were popular that hindered the N64 lineup, especially RPGs. There may have been a smidgen of them, it wasn't enough to keep up with the competition.

For me, I love it. Even now, some of my all time favorite games are on that system and they still stand the test of time for being quality games.

Yeah it's definitely lacking in certain areas, for sure.

There are a ton of excellent multiplayer titles though, which I think it owes a lot of its success to.

That is also one of the strangest things for me to grasp. People look back at the N64 and its multiplayer as some of the best times they have ever had as a gamer, but to even try to do that as an adult sounds preposterous to them. I am a huge social gamer that enjoys playing games with people physically in the room. I still do and it is one of the reasons as to why I have the WiiU, because of the great social experience it creates.

I know it is more "convenient" to play online with people, but I stay away from that unless I have friends from long distances who want to connect with me.

Off the top of my head...

Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren 2 - Oni Shuurai! Shiren Jou!
Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth
Wonder Project J2
Getter Love!!
Dezaemon 3D
Bangai-O
Custom Robo V2
Super Robot Taisen 64
Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing)
Bomberman 64
Goemon: Mononoke Sugoroku
Zool: Majuu Tsukai Densetsu
Neon Genesis Evangelion

All of those are worth checking out.
The only games in that list that I've even remotely seen people talking about are Sin and Punishment and Bangai-O...and Bangai-O usually just comes up in Dreamcast discussions.

How many of those games are English friendly?

Well I'm sure you've heard people talk about Animal Crossing. 8)

Sin and Punishment, Bangai-O, Custom Robo V2, Bomberman 64, Goemon: Mononoke Sugoroku, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Dezaemon 3D are all action-oriented and could be played without too much Japanese knowledge. The other games I listed are either RPGs or are somewhat text-heavy.

Should probably mention that the Bomberman 64 you're talking about is a completely different game from the Bomberman 64 that we got.
