Yeah, so something better

552,300 - ExedExes - Team NES - Stage 5 - MAME

I was going to ask how scores that were 150k-300k better existed in Stage 5, but I gleamed that information from sources other than this thread as this is an STGT and no advice can be given here. Ok, maybe not thanks for the spoiler tag tip there

586,400 - Dunpeal2064 - Bhutanese Snow Ferrets - Stage 4 - Mame

Didn't get nearly as far as I normally do, due to silly deaths, but its still my best score, as stages 1-3 were as good as I can get em.

Edit:

728,300 - Dunpeal2064 - Bhutanese Snow Ferrets - Mame

Alright, got the Stage 4 boss down pat in practice, getting 80k every time... and of course once I put the coin in, I miss it. Oh well, I'll get it next time. Onto Stage 5!

Yeah, savestates. I think its initially mapped to Shift+F7 (Save) and F7 (Load). I have my save mapped to the right trigger, so that I can make em on the fly.

Basically, when you get to the point where you want to make a Save, just hit your savestate button, and it will pause the game and ask you to choose a state to save it to (A key to bind this specific save to). Then, as long as the game has booted past romchecks, you can hit Load State, and it will pause again and ask you to select state to load. Pick the key that you saved to, and you are off!

well here is my pathetic attempt, not sure how you guys are getting past the stage 4 boss but he is just ravaging me. The game got alot easier when i was suggested that I use the beam sword and can spin it around by holding the rotate button, really helps clear the screen when they are coming on all sides. I ended up switching to the psp for this as mapping the L and R buttons to rotate the arm felt way more intuitive, plus I can play it now while waiting in line for the midnight release of COD Ghosts (Don't judge me!)

I find it impressive that you can actually play the game with the beam sword.

Also, your initials are quite similiar to mine!
