any games like gears of war for ps2

Is there any games like gears of war for ps2? I dont have a 360 and i only have a ps2 and a wii. Only you guys at racketboy would know. Thanks

The PS2 has a lot of great shooters, but I don't think there's anything made with a Gears of War type formula.

Gears of War was really sort of the first of it's kind when it came to good cover shooters. I can sing off a ton of awesome shooters for the PS2 but none of them would be like Gears of War.

I looked through my entire ps2 collection and didn't see anything that remotely resembled GOW in style of gameplay or general look.

Not any for PS2 that im aware of, but should check out Shadowgun: Deadzone for PC, it's also on android, and the PC game is FREE.

Also there is Quantum Theory on PS3, but the thing that kills it, is the aiming is bad.

Would Kill.Switch not qualify? It has a similar cover-based shooting mechanic going for it.

Kill.Switch and Rogue Trooper both have cover based shooting similar to Gears. And Space Invaders, of course.
