Sorry, but if you buy an Xbone after reading that, you are directly saying that Halo is more important to you than your basic human rights. That you don't care if a company monitorizes every movement and sells your privacy to sell you ads, that you are fine with the American intelligence services controlling your movements even outside of their jurisdiction and that you simply do not care if every single one of your costumer rights is rejected or turned over.
Forget about quick-time events, SOPA or Orson Scott Card, this is the issue we should be complaining about.
If you buy an Xbone, you should lose the right to vote

Maybe you should use a little more hyperbole, it might make your message more effective.

That's right. I hate human rights. Even though I don't even need to have the Kinect plugged in.

I'm not being hyperbolic. If someone thinks allowing Microsoft to monitorize every single one of your movements is fine, I don't want him to vote. Ever.AppleQueso wrote:Maybe you should use a little more hyperbole, it might make your message more effective.

A large portion of Americans don't seem to care if they're being spied on or exploited. The huge number of Xbone shills is disheartening but not unexpected.
Re: If you buy an Xbone, you should lose the right to vote
Why? It's MS spelling out what they're doing in order to enable facial recognition for logging in using that, explaining that they may collect anonymous statistics - likely basic information like how far users move their arms for a particular gesture, that will allow them to tune the system to work better.General_Norris wrote: Forget about quick-time events, SOPA or Orson Scott Card, this is the issue we should be complaining about.
Communications reads more like MS considers Live communications to be in a public space - no expectation of privacy.
If they were actually saying they would be collecting marketing data by looking at what products are in your room, or using your video calls/voice chat in commercials, that'd be different. But, that's not what's being said.
Re: If you buy an Xbone, you should lose the right to vote
Uh, that seems like an odd rant. So are you protesting the unique ID for the facial recognition software, the unknown analysis of said ID based on facial expressions and structure, or the recording of voice communications? Or is it all of it?General_Norris wrote:Link:

Also, just a quick point: American intelligence services and their functions depend on the organization. The NSA doesn't control, they observe and record. And they do it in conjunction with the British GCHQ, so we can spy on each other and then pass the information back and forth in a perfectly legal manner along with the data on everyone else.
The important thing, General_Norris, is that not only do the Americans have all of your phonecall info, so do the Brits.

Yeah you are being paranoid and ridiculous. It is just explaining how the technology works to more accurately track movement.

I can't make heads or tails of this thread.
Is Norris saying that the xbone is some evil microsoft spying device? And does he know the internet just heard him say that?

He's on the M$ watch list now.
Really though, you shouldn't be surprised. This isn't even out of the norm for many online services.
You pretty well give away your right to privacy the second you get on the internet anyway.

Older. Not wiser.
