Gamecube game questions..
Re: Gamecube game questions..
I used to not care for instrumentals, but that changed as I got older. Much of the music I listen to now has lyrics in languages I can't understand, so they simply become another part of the music to me. In some songs I listen to the lyrics are short and repetitive to the point that they become completely unimportant. I guess it has to do with musical upbringing and background with most people, and since they're only listening to whatever's popular they miss out on a lot of classic works or works in different genres.
Re: Gamecube game questions..
It's always been the same with me, I hear the music first then the lyrics. If I like the song then I might actually listen to the lyrics and get something from that but if the music itself doesn't move me or at least is technically impressive I'm just not interested. Hence why the vast majority of pop music has no appeal what-so-ever to me. Most of the time I just pick apart every single piece of pop music and say how this part rips this song off or whatever.

Too many people just know the music if they see the videos, its sad. Sometimes I've found a lot of videos I've never seen from old songs I like a lot and were very popular in mtv or whatever in their days.Mozgus wrote:So true. Everyone I know requires a visual stimulus to go along with their music, and I just find that so shallow. I'm starting to lose faith that anyone actually likes music itself, but instead likes watching people do shit on stage, or likes watching trippy colors and effects on a screen go along with a sound.Niode wrote:Moz: I love video game music, and it is criminal when people don't want to know how good music is just because it's from a game. People are too eager to dismiss soundtracks as real music. I just don't get it. It's the same with film soundtracks. There's some wonderful soundtracks out there that people just don't appreciate because there aren't pretty pictures to along with it.
