New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Thanks, I know I'm not the only 1 handed gamer, I just have to figure ways to overcome the lack of fingers lol, PS2+ controllers with Analog are still good to go except the occasional hand seizing up, but them D-Pads kill me.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Hello! My username is my nickname in real life, so I'm Cricket! I'm 33, happily married to two gamers and we have a teenage daughter.
My husband and I are die-hard gamers. We've owned almost every console at some point. We still have six consoles and an assortment of handhelds that get regular use. Now that I have a permanent home the consoles are soon to go up on display.
Right now I'm interested in collecting the consoles themselves and a scattering of games that interest me. As I get older I'll no doubt edge towards becoming a completionist.
Plus it gives me an excuse to buy the husband a big Dreamcast setup to replace his old one and still scratch my collecting itch.

Now i'm reading that as your're married to two other people. I'm sure that's not what you meant.Cricket wrote:Hello! My username is my nickname in real life, so I'm Cricket! I'm 33, happily married to two gamersand we have a teenage daughter.
Welcome to the site, I wish my mom and dad were both gamers. You're daughter is lucky.

Welcome aboard and it is a pleasure to have you in the community! I understand the urge. My wife and I have quite a large collection of consoles and games. She may not admit to it, but she takes just as much pleasure as I do in it. She is responsible for getting reconnecting me with the Dreamcast long after I foolishly sold mine, not to mention the plethora of awesome gaming suprirses she has provided for every birthdays and Christmases.
Speaking of Dreamcast's though... What games do you and your husband enjoy from that system? Any games in general that you guys enjoy playing together?

We're a poly-family. I'm married to one, all three of us are in a committed relationship with each other. For the sake of brevity I refer to them both as my spouses.Aramonde wrote:Now i'm reading that as your're married to two other people. I'm sure that's not what you meant.
Hah! She might disagree with you, as teenagers are wont to do.Welcome to the site, I wish my mom and dad were both gamers. You're daughter is lucky.
He's the Dreamcast fan. I never actually owned one. I went from the N64 to the XBox and completely missed the PS2 and Dreamcast during that generation. When we play together it's almost exclusively on the PC.BogusMeatFactory wrote:Speaking of Dreamcast's though... What games do you and your husband enjoy from that system? Oh my apologizes, i meant no disrespect.Cricket wrote: We're a poly-family. I'm married to one, all three of us are in a committed relationship with each other. For the sake of brevity I refer to them both as my spouses.
I think i was a different kind of teenager. I didn't mind spending time with my mom. The only video games my mom plays are 80's arcade games like Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Galaga. Or Pinball games, Which i like but it would be cool if she played more.Hah! She might disagree with you, as teenagers are wont to do.

New to the forums!
I just wanted to throw a Thread out there introducing myself. I've been a collector my whole life (27) years old now and I finally am getting back into snagging some of my favorite games and consoles that I lost or sold along the way years ago. I'm glad I found this forum with other like minded folks and hope to hear from you all soon!
Does anyone have any tips on how to really start collecting again? I've been collecting Star Wars & G.I. Joe figures for the past decade and wonder if anyone has any tips or advice they could give. Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
