Of course it isn't, but people should clarify "I don't like him as an actor", which would be silly, as Leo is an incredible actor. Not sure how you can't like a person you haven't met.
His opinion could also have been influenced by seeing interviews or video clips of the man outside of his work. It's like that Christian Bale rant which was recorded. Regardless of whether Bale is actually that angry on a regular basis is inconsequential. The perception of him as a result of that sound recording was largely negative and influenced opinions about the man, regardless of the quality of his work.

It could also be based on the roles that DiCaprio has chosen over the years. Perhaps he absolutely hated his accent in Blood Diamond or was so disgusted by his role in The Basketball Diaries, like if someone were so shocked by the content of Bad Lieutenant to form a bad impression of Harvey Keitel, despite the strength of his work.

Yes. He smells of a mix of broccoli, gin, and you have to make a meeting with his publicist before you can even e-mail the guy. He and Cera are two peas in a pod.

I couldn't either. Might be my pop-up blocker. Same trailer is on youtube.

THOR: The Dark World

My understanding is that this film had some production problems with the director and Christopher Ecclestones villain Malekith had his part reduced to make way for more Loki.

It shows in a very obvious way. I won't spoil anything but there is a certain important scene where the emotion should be running high, but it is stilted by sloppy editing and bad direction. I also get the impression that not only was Malekith forced aside but so was Anthony Hopkins as Odin who doesn't really get any sort or story arc.

Natalie Portman doesn't do much either as Jane. She acts stoned most of the time, seemingly unimpressed by meeting the real fucking Odin and Frigga and, you know, being on another planet. I don't know, seems like a physicist might get a kick from that. Maybe she's an alumna of the same university all the scientists from Prometheus attended.

Shame to waste such talent and more a shame to not have a baddie who has no motivation beyond "destroy the universe". Say what you will of the first Thor, but Loki and the titular hero have a more unique relationship than most superhero movies.

Darcy and Selvig (the other scientists from the first movie) are now basically just comedy relief and not much else aside from Selvig providing a bit of a dues ex machina (no pun intended). Also Kat Dennings wears a normal, unfitted coat which is a waste of an awesome bust.

That relationship however is the better side of this movie. We get a deeper insight into Loki's soul and Tom Hiddlestone has the chops to pull it off. We also get a great bit where Loki uses his shape changing powers to mock his brother. It's much cooler than it sounds, trust me.

Loki gets all the best lines as well and is genuinely likeable and engaging screen presence which is quite the feat for an mischievous god bent on world domination. So at least, I can understand why the execs bumped up the role. Also cos on his own Thor is pretty boring if we're super honest. I mean people complain about Superman but Thor has him down pat in the overpowered noble hero category.

Anyway, it all ends in a visually exciting but again choppily edited battle sequence and Thor triumphs. Yay. Or does he? As usual stay til the end, there are two post-credit sequences, ushers be damned.

tldr/ There are lots of problems with this sequel but Loki will pull it through for the fans. I wouldn't bother if you aren't into superheroes though. Unlike Iron Man, I don't feel there is any need for Thor to have a trilogy.

Still excited for Captain America 2 though. Guess I'm just a sucker.

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

I won't do a review for this as you all know how good it is already. Instead have this gif.

Monster Squad

A quite hilarious movie with good characters and story. It was great seeing the classic movie monsters, the movie's own spin on them and nice to hear some of the more adult things being said partially more family friendly movie. 9/10!

Just Got back from Ender's Game. I enjoyed it... Not sure yet to what level I enjoyed it, but it was worth the ticket price certainly.

I see what you mean, he is probably very different in real life but I just get this "thing" from him that makes me not like him. Also, I think DiCaprio suffers big time from having to show different characters on screen. For example, in Django, even though he did a great act I still see him as DiCaprio I am not convinced that he is Calvin Candie . I am aware that a lot of actors suffer of this kind of thing, this is why on TV series they pick kind of unknown actors on the opposite of famous ones to make them more believable . Was Walter White going to be believable if he was portrayed by some one like John Travolta? Everyone would be thinking "Thats just Travolta" .

Why would I be disgusted by his role in The BasketBall Diaries... I have not watched that movie, but that is a weird thing to say.
