Had the opportunity to catch an advanced screening of LAST VEGAS, so I took the offer. LAST VEGAS is a perfect comedy to go see with your Bible study group, meaning the movie stinks. Not an insult to bible study groups, but an insult to the movies they always choose to see.

The movie has the deck stacked with great and famous actors but folds when it comes to jokes. Expect nearly two hours of "I'm too old for this" jokes. The performances are phoned in, the script lacks any depth, and every situation is more predictable than knowing Harold and Kumar are going to make pot jokes.

I was hoping this would be an enjoyable movie to watch on a lazy afternoon, but it is a bit of a chore to watch. It's as if the actors are impersonating themselves the entire film. LAST VEGAS brings nothing new to the plate and recycles old bits you've seen dozens of times already. I was also hoping this film would have some redeeming qualities as I'm sure critics are going to say things like "It's the geriatric Hangover" and other lame jokes that are as bad as the movie.

So there you have it. A safe, predictable, non-funny, paint by the numbers bromance comedy.

I have only two words:

Fuck Yes.

And I'm not a fan of Jonah Hill, but I can't wait for this.

It looks like an awesome movie. I have noticed DiCaprio is on a roll with movie releases... I do not like him but he chooses to make good movies. Either that, or other actors will do any job as long as they get paid.

Why? What is he like in person?

I recently saw the movie Now You See Me with Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo etc. in a film that, I expected, to be like an Ocean's Eleven style film with magicians.

In the films, 4 Magicians, some at the height of their career, others, down on their luck, get tapped by an unknown benefactor to commit a series of heists under the guise of magic shows to boost their career, all the while avoiding the FBI and their agent Mark Ruffalo.

This film does not provide any fulfilling entertainment. It is nonsensical, filled with over a handful of mind-numbing plot holes and a big twist at the end that you will never guess, because it makes zero sense. The film insults your intelligence with character sthat serve little to no purpose i.e. Isla Fisher's role as one of the criminal magicians whose sole purpose is to be hit on by Woody Harrelson.

Also, there should be a rule when making magician movies... DON'T USE CGI! The film is filled with CGI, to the point where not a single trick was real, relying heavily on CGI to amaze you and falling flat in the process. There is no point in wondering, "How is it done," because the answers are given to you the moment the question is posed, which seems to be a trend for films lately.

Magician films are a great idea. With films like, The Prestige, you are literally watching a slight of hand trick in motion, with the twists and turns always there somewhere, but with this film, you have none of that, yet they seem to think they are being clever.

A waste of time.

NOW YOU SEE ME had lots of potential too. A great premise that was completely ruined. Plus, it could have been a really sleek and sexy heist movie, but nope.

I don't think it's that. I think it's more like an opinion has formed based on exposure to some of his older films. I'll admit, I used to dislike DiCaprio, but at the time I had only seen him in Titanic and Romeo+Juliet. But after watching some of his other offerings several years later, my opinion of him and his work has changed, and now I quite enjoy his acting.

Of course it isn't, but people should clarify "I don't like him as an actor", which would be silly, as Leo is an incredible actor. Not sure how you can't like a person you haven't met.

Word semantics which could be turned on to you for Jonah Hill. Have you met him?

EDIT: Speaking of which, I can't seem to get that video for WOLF to play on that link you posted. Not sure if it's my computer or what.
