Homepages

Post by SpaceBooger »

For the last couple of years I have been using iGoogle as my homepage. It was great since it had my email, social media, news, and rss feed right there for me.

Starting Friday iGoogle will be no more, so I was wondering what other people use as a homepage? I use chrome and am interested in what other options people are using.

Try out Netvibes, I just recently started using it and so far I am liking it.
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

I never close my browser, I'm honestly not even sure what my homepage is. I looked in light of this topic and it's "Mozilla Firefox Start Page".

I use blank too for a quick load of the browser since I might start at a different page at times. I can either google from the search box or click one of the Bookmarks.

Actually, yes. I actually don't use bookmarks for usual sites I visit. I just hit CTRL+T for new tab, type the first few letters of the site, down arrow, and enter. Sure I could have one usual page open up with the browser, but I just choose not to. Otherwise my method for new tabs is faster than bookmarks.

But I was mostly hassling that I don't have a homepage set.

I do this too. I still add bookmarks though, as even with a clear history my bookmarks will autocomplete in the URL bar.

I actually have a blank desktop (and a mainly blank start menu) as well, and just do Windows+R -> Chrome to open the browser. Stops most people from messing around on my laptop simply because they can't figure out how to open a browser.

Oh yeah, I bookmark stuff I know I won't visit often. They just barely get used.

I use Speed Dial for Fire Fox and Thunderbird with a minimize to tray add on. When I open my browser or a new tab, I have little thumbnails of my most used sites right there (and it's all customizable to make it work best of you). I don't need my browser to be open to check my mail, and I get notifications of new mail right from the system tray.
