To be brutally honest - my mind is sorta blown right now with all the stuff available and I want to be careful before I just keep buying stuff. (not speaking toward Terreria, just in general). I'm impulsive...to a fault.

Quote from IM exchange w/noise last night:
"Dude. I think i'll probably need at least 3 of those Vanquishes. One for the bedroom, one for the family room for multi-player w/the kids. Then i'll have to build a proper cab w/arcade controls wired to USB for proper shmupping and fighters in the basement".
(in regard to Digital Storm gaming PC's)

You dont have to have a gaming pc for each. Some games, like Jamestown for example, run well on much lower hardware than you would imagine. I have played Jamestown fine on an intel atom/ion combo, that I literally pulled out of someones trash.

Also keep in mind that the Steam OS/etc is going to be designed for game streaming. It's also something that nVidia has invested a bit in. From large level down to being able to stream games to Tegra based devices (not just the Shield, even if that's their first-party flagship). Having a full-fledged gaming machine in every room likely won't be all that necessary.

Also, probably better to build than buy prebuilt gaming machines. It might seem daunting, but it's not that hard.

Steam Sales are dangerous things and you dont want to blow all your gaming budget before they start. Case in point, I bought Magical Drop V during the summer sale for $1.25, and with the way it is trending, Bioshock 3 should be sub $10 this Christmas.
To quote myself, there is a sale going on right now:
http://store.steampowered.com/sale/halloween2013

And the Orcs Must Die franchise (second one is coop and has many of the first ones stages in it if you own the first) is on sale for 8.74 with all DLC, or 3.74 if you just want OMD2. A buddy and I recently ran through OMD2's stages with the DLC and logged a solid 14 hours. Granted I didnt buy OMD1, so now we have 10 more maps to play.

Mercenary Kings is another you might want to look at:

It is a Metal Slug inspired Metroidvania. It is in Alpha right now but is on sale for 40% off. Made by the same team who made Scott Pilgrim.

Just started using Steam myself. On a Mac.. So pretty limited. I started Dear Esther. Haven't finished it yet because I was annoyed with technical issues.

This game, no joke, runs better in my Windows 7 virtual machine than on OS X. I know that games are often horribly optimized for Mac, but how is it THAT bad? Constantly stuttering in OS X. Mostly pretty smooth in a Win7 VM. Understandable that running Windows natively would offer a nice performance boost over OS X but a VM?

Either way, pretty neat so far. Going to finish it ASAP. I meant to do a one sitting play through. Didn't happen because I was figuring out these problems.
