I guess the apprehension would be which Monster World do we play? Do we make it a month of Monster World, or vote between the four?

Just to throw this out there, we could vote between Metal Gear, and Wonder Boy in Monster Land. TR seems to follow a pattern of introducing the first game of a series before the sequels, so it may as well be the first Monster Land we play. The only trouble with that is, some may have seconded Monster World with a particular game in mind that wasn't Monster Land.

I feel a little opposed to voting between those 2 games because they're nothing alike, but if people wanted to, then sure.

My vote would have to be pulled from Monster World if that was the case though. I adore that series, but I've played all of them multiple times before, whereas I've never had the chance to play Metal Gear before.

I don't feel they're very similar in terms of gameplay either, but I feel like at a certain point, some games are going to need to be bumped in favor of a clean schedule.

How come F-Zero is definite and Deus Ex is not when it has more votes? (7vs6, same with Monster World)
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

None of the voting done in this thread has been anywhere near scientific - so those numbers may be very accurate...or they may be wholly inaccurate of what the actual consensus is. What there is consensus for is that: (A) we are talking in circles. (B) no one particular person is in charge, which leads to talking in circles. (C) it would be better to finalize a schedule sooner than later, particularly as some of us will be sourcing physical copies of many of the games.

At some point we need to just finalize a calendar. Not everyone is going to be happy - there will be some things along the way that maybe should have also been voted on, but we are all going to have different opinions of what those things should have been ===== more talking in circles.

I feel like all the down votes for Deus Ex were ignored as well. I think 4 people flat out voted against it.

It was stated that you can't down vote games. I, like many others, would have down voted many games if it were allowed (so instead I made valid points why I think we should choose another game instead), but like said it would complicate things too much. And we'd need to agree whether it's democracy or design merits that we're using for choosing the titles

F-Zero had no close competitors, Blood is an FPS that was suggested and has been one of the more popular suggestions for October.

True, but the debate on whether to have a horror month or not still goes on, and apparently (?) if the horror month wins, it's up to people to nominate horror games for that month so even if there's going to be a horror month, Blood will not necessarily be the game of choice then. And in the FPS category, Deus Ex got more votes than Blood

Deus Ex probably does deserve recognition if it got 7 votes.

Maybe take what ever game that 'won its month' by the lowest margin, and do a head to head with Deus Ex?
